Places to Eat in Halls Crossroads Tennessee
Halls Crossroads is a small town located north of Knoxville Tn. From interstate 640 a person would take highway 441, also known as Maynardville hwy and Broadway to locals, north to Halls, then proceed on Hwy 33 to 7418 Maynardville Hwy. Hunters is located on the right, across from Hardees and Halls High School.
Hunters has been in business for over 20 years, and is a small, locally owned and operated deli. The main draw and charm of this restaurant is the pictures on the wall, and the history associated with them. Like most local delis, the pictures are memories from the early years of Halls, including pictures of old sports teams, and locally owned stores.
The menu consist of a variety of sandwiches and burgers, all made to order, and cooked on the spot. Nothing is pre-cooked, except the tasty cakes, and everything is prepared as you wish. My personal favorite is the hunter burger, which is prepared on a hoagie bun. Side orders consist of fries, onion rings, and even deep fried mushrooms. Drinks are a combination of fresh tea, fountain drinks, and bottled drinks.
The dining area is small and charming, with pictures adorning the walls, small tables, and even a small extension surrounded by windows. The staff is always friendly, and remembers your name if you eat there on a regular basis.
All said and done, if business or pleasure ever brings you to this small town, this is a must eat restaurant.
