Popcorn, Indiana - A Healthier Kind of Snack Food

Source

Popcorn, Indiana is hard not to eat.

I admit I never heard of the popcorn maker, Popcorn, Indiana, until watching the current season of The Apprentice. Since watching that episode, I have seen more stores carry this snack food. Let me tell you, I am hooked on Popcorn, Indiana. It is popcorn that has far fewer calories than the competition and tastes great.

Popcorn, Indiana features eleven flavors from Original Kettlecorn, Aged White Cheddar, Movie Theater Popcorn, Touch of Sea Salt, Cinnamon Sugar, Bacon Ranch, Buffalo Cheddar, Smoked Cheddar, Wasabi, and Cocoa Kettle Kettlecorn. I have personally tried four of the flavors listed and I will critique these flavors. These four flavors are ones I have purchased from stores in my area. I like to try most of the flavors when it is all said and done.

The first flavor I tried was Buffalo Cheddar. It has a cheesy taste with a slight kick of hot and sweet taste as it is kettlecorn. My wife, who does not like spicy foods, loves this flavor because it is not to hot but you still taste the Buffalo flavoring. I like this flavor from the beginning. My first introduction to this flavor was through a co-worker setting out an open bag in the breakroom. Once tasted a handful, I was hooked. I started having cravings for this flavor after trying it. I recommend to everyone who likes their hot and spicy foods to give the Buffalo Cheddar flavor a try.

The second flavor I bought at the store was the Original Kettlecorn. I love kettle flavor popcorn and this flavor does not disappoint. It has a nice blend of sugar cane and salt. Once you take a bite of this kettlecorn, you will think you are a fall festival. Also, if you love sweet tasting snacks, the Original Kettlecorn will more than satisfy your cravings.

The third flavor I bought at the store for my wife and I to consume is the Aged White Cheddar. Oh, this is so good. I like cheddar flavored popcorn but the Aged White Cheddar might just be the best we have ever consumed. It is a very nice blend of authentic Wisconsin cheddar cheese and just the right amount of salt for a great taste. This flavor is very addicting. My wife and I really like the Aged White Cheddar. I would say this flavor is our favorite.

The fourth flavor we have tried is the Movie Theater Popcorn. When you think of Movie Theater Popcorn, you think that it will be very buttery, salty, and tons of calories. Actually, it has buttery taste that is not over the top. A lightly salted flavoring without all of the calories. I found this flavor to be very good. If you want to eat a healthier movie theater popcorn, Popcorn, Indiana is the way to go. Great taste and less of the unhealthy stuff.

In case you are wondering, there really is a community called Popcorn, Indiana. It is located 20 miles southwest of Bloomington, Indiana. It was founded by Warren Stuhl and Richard Demb. Stuhl and Demb were looking to create a gourmet popcorn and met with Mr. Popcorn, Indiana himself in Dale Humphrey. Humphrey was the inspiration of the Popcorn, Indiana brand. Popcorn, Indiana is owned by the Dale and Thomas Popcorn as the Dale is named after Dale Humphrey and Thomas from former NBA star Isiah Thomas, who is the company's financial backer. This is a very popular brand that has been featured on The View and The Apprentice.

The company's slogan is "munch better". I agree you "munch better" with Popcorn, Indiana. It is a great brand worth picking up at the grocery store.

4/9/11 Update - Since I have written this article I have tried several more flavors of Popcorn, Indiana popcorn. Those flavors are Cinnamon Sugar, Bacon Ranch, Wasabi, White Chocolate Cocoa and Dark Chocolate Chip.
