Quick Kids Snacks
Children are always hungry it seems. To keep them from grabbing all that junk food, keep some quick healthy snacks around. Some of these use a few ingredients, some just take minutes to make, either way they are better for your children than modified and processed foods.
Peanut Butter Banana Balls
These great little balls can be made in large batches and stays ready to go for a week or more. Gives your kids a good dose of protein and pottasium, along with nutrients from the nuts. Perfect for little hands on the go.
1/2 cup peanut butter (chunky or smooth)
1 small banana
1/4 cup chopped nuts and/or chocolate chips
2 teaspoons brown sugar (wheat germ can be used for a healthier version)
Mashed and mix bananas and peanut butter with brown sugar.
In a seperate bowl crush nuts and or chocolate.
With a small spoon, drop a small amount of mixture in to nuts. Swirl around in the bowl to cover the outside.
Refrigerate for an hour or so, then enjoy.
Stays viable for up to a week, just cover with plastic wrap.
Pafaits are great because they are usually eye pleasing, which helps get your kids to eat em. Not to mention all the nutrients packed in it's ingredients. Another thing that can be made up in advance and served for three days afterwards.
Plain or fruit flavored yogurt
Frozen mixed fruits and berries of your choice
Whip cream (rediwhip should be applied before serving)
Layer the ingredients in small see through glass. For younger children, add grapenuts and press in yogurt to get a softer texture. For crunch, add right before serving.

Kids love anything that has to do with pizza, so take advantage of that. Use a wholesome egg muffin, maybe even squeeze in a wheat one for extra goodness. Antioxidants from the sauce and using a light cheese pairs to be a great quick snack to keep your little ones going. And it's a lot cheaper and healthier than those horrid party pizzas.
Light Mozarella Cheese
Add anything you like, whether it be lunch meats, pineapple, left over veggies.
Assemble and bake till cheese is melted. Doesn't get much easier than that.
