Salmon Marinated And Grilled

Salmon Fillets on the Grill
Salmon Fillets on the Grill | Source

Cooking salmon fillets on a gas grill is quite fast. In this recipe the salmon was cooked in ten minutes. I served this meal with two salads that I had prepared earlier on in the day. Rice or potatoes and a vegetable would go great with this meal as well.

An hour before cooking the salmon it was marinated in the marinade below.

Cook Time does not include 1 hour for marinade

Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 10 min
Ready in: 20 min
Yields: 8 - 4ounce servings of salmon

Once You Have the Marinade Made

Place Salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over the fish. Cover and refrigerate.

Ingredients For Marinade

Whisk the following ingredients in a bowl

  • 1 TBS. Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3 TBS. Lemon Juice
  • 2 TBS. Soy Sauce
  • 2 TBS. Honey
  • 1 TBS. Ginger Powder
  • Fresh Ground Pepper

Grill Pans Make a Great BBQ Tool

I used 8 4oz or 117 gram salmon fillets. If your fillets are larger you may need to cook them longer than the ten minutes I stated above.

Preparing Your Grill

Preheat your barbecue to medium. For the salmon fillets I used a barbeque grill pan that is non-stick and makes life easier when it comes time to clean up. If you do not have one of these I would recommend placing a double layer of heavy duty aluminum foil sprayed with cooking oil, on the grill before cooking the salmon.

Grills All Ready Let's Get Cooking

Once your grill is heated place salmon on the grill and baste it with the marinade sauce frequently. Flip salmon over after 4 - 5 minutes and continue basting until cooked.

Seafood is great, especially salmon -- super source of beneficial omega-3.

I have some salmon fillets that I need to cook up. Bought them last week at the store. I am horribly picky about my fish but I will definatley have to give it a try. However, sadly, even though it was on the list... I forgot to pick up soy sauce and I just ran out of Olive Oil... back to the store I go!

Ken, My favorite salmon is smoked. When I lived in Seattle for a few years There was a place by Pike Place Market. The salmon there was to die for.

Tera, I look forward to the new tilapia recipe. I love your recipes.

Gordon, I hope you post a recipe for the Honey Roast Salmon.

Cardelean, Pink Chicken LOL, now there's a good idea. I didn't care very much for most fish as a child except for the fish n chips we would get on Friday nights wrapped in newsprint.

Please let me know if you like the recipe.

Bail Up, Teriyaki honey marinade sounds like it would be good.

Salmon my favorite fish. Bake it, grill it, poach it, pan fry over a camp fire. No matter how we choose to eat it, I love SALMON. Thank you for sharing your methods with us again, you are such a talented cook. Now my mouth is watering for salmon, and I don't have any, will have to run to the market to buy a whole one. Yummy.

Quick, easy and delicious! Thank you Susan, definitely a winner. Lately I have not been wanting any red meat or chicken so this will be a welcomed change. I'll do it in my oven broiler...don't have a grill yet.

Salmon on the grill is the best! The fish soaks up the marinade rather quickly so the salmon is always flavorful. We like a teriyaki honey marinade but this looks like a winner as well.

Yummy! My family loves Salmon. We used to call it pink chicken for the kids but now that they love it we just call it fish. I'm definitely bookmarking and trying this recipe. Thanks!

Susan, I absolutely love salmon and this looks and sounds delicious. Believe it or not, however, I have never tasted salmon grilled! You have also reminded me to try making honey roast salmon. I bought it out of the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar a few weeks ago and it was delicious.
