 This recipe is so simple that I wasn't going to include it because I thought I couldn't get enough content together for hubpages to publish it.

From the time I was a child I remember my favorite caramel candies.  Plain caramel pieces that stick to your teeth but are oh so smooth tasting.

Who can forget the daisies that are round caramel filled with powdered sugar and cut into little tires of sweetness.

This is a simple way to make caramel and it only takes one ingredient:  1 can of evaporated milk.

Put the can of evaporated milk into a sauce pan filled with water.  The water has to cover the can entirely so you will need a larger pot for this recipe. 

Boil the can in the water for 1 hour.

Let the can cool for 1 hour before using.

Remove the lid from the can and pour out your caramel into a square pan and let set.  Cut into pieces and wrap in wax paper.

Or you can use this caramel warm over your favorite ice cream for a sundae.
