Roasting Cornish Hen Two Ways

I love poultry any kind of poultry it dose not matter if it's turkey quail or what ever I love them but it's Cornish Hens that I want to tell you about right now. What I like about Cornish Hens are that they hold the flavor of any seasoning that you put on them, if's a rub it works if you baste them it works and it really goes to the bone, the flavor just melts right into the meat and you can taste it in every bite you take and it makes you want to come back for more.

So today I want to share with you two of my favorite ways of roasting Cornish Hens one with my Cajun spiced rub and the other with my Asian style basting sauce so follow me so I can share with you two great tasting recipes that I am sure you will love, so lets begin.

The first recipe I want to share with you is my Cajun Spiced Rubbed Cornish Hens that are packed with flavor I am sure you will love so here is the recipe for you to try.

Cajun Spiced Rubbed Cornish Hens

Ingredients

3 or 4 Cornish hens

2 teaspoons of onion powder

2 tablespoons of granulated garlic powder

1 teaspoon of sea salt

1 teaspoon of paprika

1 teaspoon of powdered thyme

1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

1 tablespoon of brown sugar

Methods

To begin pre-heat the oven at 350 degrees

Using a large bowl combine all of the ingredients and mix well to blend it all together at this point get out Cornish hens and rub the spice mixture on the skin and under the skin of the Cornish hens then place the Cornish hens in the oven and roast them for 11/2 to 2 hours

One thing I did when making this dish is made my skin very crispy by cooking my hens breast side down this method of cooking make them very crispy but it also makes your breast meat really juicy so try this method when you try this recipe or when you roast your next poultry entrée.

The second recipe I want to share with you is my Asian Style Cornish Hens recipe that is really simple to put together but the taste will make think that you have been cooking all day so with that being said let's start this recipe that I know you will love making it as much you will love eating it.

Asian Style Cornish Hens

Ingredients

3 to 4 Cornish Hens

1 cup of orange preserves

1/4 cup of soy sauce

1 teaspoon of sesame oil

1 tablespoon of garlic powder

1 tablespoon of sea salt

1 tablespoon of ground white pepper

Methods

To begin pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees.

Now get out your Cornish hens and take your sea salt and white pepper and season your Cornish hens really well inside the cavity and the outside of the hens then set aside while your making your Asian basting sauce.

To make the Asian basting sauce combine the orange preserves, soy sauce, sesame oil and garlic powder and blend together very well.

Now get out your Cornish hen let them sit for 5 minutes then place them in the oven and roast for 1 hour at 375 then after the first hour reduce the heat to 300 degrees and the start basting your Cornish hens every 15 minutes for the next 1hour after the second hour remove the oven then baste again then let it rest for 15 minutes basting every 5 minutes while it's resting serve and enjoy.

Asian Style Cornish Hens

It really dose not matter if there is a rub or a sauce you use to season your cornish hens the flavor is going to be there because no matter what you use to flavors these little birds it all just soaks in s try and enjoy.
