San Telmo Spanish Tapas Bar and Restaurant, Bonn
One of the best restaurants I have visited in the past year.
A very warm and friendly restaurant run by a team of young and energetic stuff.
We visited Bonn for 2 days as a stopping-by for our summer trip in Germany. We stayed at hotel Hilton Bonn for a night. I looked up online trying to find restaurants and there are indeed a lot of choices within the city centre. I was however looking for something a bit away from the city centre and less touristic. And then I found this one.
The San Telmo tapas bar is located right outside of the busiest streets of the city Centre. We booked our table ensuring we got a place. When we arrived, we were the only table and were just very curious with how good this empty restaurant could be. But after food has come, we do not have doubts anymore and simply enjoy the lovely food that we’ve ordered. We had 5 tapas dishes, a Valencia paella for 2 and a crema catalana as dessert. All are simple. down-to-earth and delicious dishes.
In fact people started to flood in around 19 30 and all have made their booking. We stuck to our Dutch dining time, being 6 in the afternoon which is an early-bird in German standard obviously.
To us it was a very pleasant dining experience. Not that it is a Michelin star restaurant but it's about the warmth and coziness. One of the most important asset of the restaurant is definitely their team of friendly and helpful stuff who out a lot of positive vibes.
