Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate chip cookies are one of those comfort foods from childhood. The smell in the house brings back memories of coming in after school to a plate on the table. Baking from scratch is easy, fun and the yields are so much higher. Great as a snack, for lunches and desserts these tasty cookies take no time to make.

Ten minutes to prep and ten minutes later you have warm homemade cookies fresh out of the oven … you can’t beat that!

How to

Preheat oven to 375º

Cream together

1 cup butter and

1 ½ cups brown sugar

Beat in

2 eggs and

1tsp vanilla extract

In a separate bowl mix

2 cups whole wheat or spelt flour

1 tsp baking soda

½ tsp salt.

Slowly add into wet mixture blending well.

Stir in 4 to 5 handfuls of chocolate chips.

Drop spoonfuls of cookie dough onto a cookie sheet and cook for approximately 10 minutes in your preheated oven.

Makes 60 to 75 cookies depending on size.
