Eating Almost Healthy with a Spinach, Strawberry and Bacon Salad with Poppy Seed Dressing
Spinach contains anti-aging properties. I am always trying to find things to fight the aging process from foods to my makeup. Many people do not realize that one of the main causes of aging is from years of a bad diet. Spinach provides more nutrients than any other food and aso protects us against various illnesses. It contains Vitamin E, B6, magnesium, Calcium, folic acid, Beta Carotene. Studies have also shown that eating green leafy vegtables such as spinach can slow the age related decline in brain function. Served Raw it is a good source of Vitamin C but if overcooked you could loose most of this vitamin. One cup of Spinach is about 7 Calories. Many people dislike Spinach. I never liked it as a child but as I got older and tryed this delicious recipe by a coworker I was hooked.
Spinach and Strawberry Salad with Poppy seed Dressing
1 Package of fresh baby Spinach
1 pt. of fresh ripe Strawberrys
Maries Poppy seed Dressing
optional: bacon bits, almonds
Remove the stems from spinach: wash the leaves well and pat dry. Combine Spinach and Strawberrys in a bowl and toss with salad dressing and serve.
This is a very easy and fast summer recipe to throw together when your in a hurry and is great put together the night before. I eat it almost daily. Strawberries are also a good source of nutrition and are benificial to your skin and help maintain a healthy appearance. Strawberries are rich in antioxidants, that help to promote anti-aging. I grow fresh strawberries in my garden. Fresh garden strawberries are the very best. They are so much sweeter then from a store and are free from pesticides. Everyone should start eating a Spinach and Strawberry salad to help stay young.
