Step by Step Recipe for Pizza Crust
Easy Pizza Crust
I LOVE PIZZA! And, I really enjoy cooking. However, over the years, I had been very afraid to make my own pizza crust - for fear of failure :-( But not anymore! I make it all the time and am excited to share my recipe for pizza crust with you.
- 3 Cups Flour (all purpose)
- 2 Tbsp. Oil (i like olive oil)
- 1 Cup hot water
- 1/2 TBSP Red Star Yeast
- 1 Tsp. Sugar
- 1 Tsp. Salt
Put flour, oil and salt into large bowl. In separate bowl, add Hot Water, Yeast and Sugar. Stir until yeast is dissolved and let sit until it begins to bubble. Pour this into the flour mixture and add oil. Mix well.
Turn mixture out onto floured surface and knead until soft and elastic. Let rise at least 15 minutes in warm location, then punch down and let rise once again (if you can wait that long!) It's okay to use after first rising - i often do.
When dough is ready, divide into two balls and form each into a crust. Place on pizza pan, top with your favorite ingredients, and bake in 415 degree oven until done (about 15 minutes).
Ideas for topping your pizza: Your favorite pizza sauce and cheese (and whatever else you like) OR what we also like is to brush the top with olive oil, then add garlic and parmesan cheese and bake. This makes a great bread to serve with spagetti.
