Summer Wine Smoothie Recipes

Beat the Heat with a Wine Smoothie!

A few years ago, I tried my first wine smoothie at the New York State Fair--it was the perfect relief from the muggy heat. All you need is some fruit, wine, and a blender. Add a few fancy glasses, garnishes, and fun friends for a great summertime party.

I'm providing some recipes for smoothies I've come up with, but you can definitely experiment. If you come up with a great new recipe, be sure to share it with the rest of us in the comments capsule below!

Tropical White Wine Smoothie

  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup frozen mango chunks
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple pieces
  • 1 fresh banana
  • 1-1/2 cups white wine

In a blender, mix until smooth. For a zing, use a bit less wine and replace with lemonade or limeade. This refreshing drink will send you buzzing through summer.

Rad Berry Red Wine Smoothie

  • 2 cups frozen raspberries
  • 1 cup frozen blueberries
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 1-1/2 cups red wine

Combine in a blender and mix until smooth. For a creamier smoothie, add more yogurt.

You can also try other ingredients, like substitute the yogurt with a fresh banana, or try using other kinds of frozen berries.

Wow, sounds like a great "stealth" way to get a buzz! :-) We'll try this this weekend, along with the 3-finger 2BC Chard.

That picture looks awesome, will definitely try it out, I hesitate drinking wines directly but once I know it tastes good, I can try them out. The above recipe I will definitely give it a shot. Thanks. Cheers. :)

When we got married, the only "electrodomestic" he and I retuesqed was a Vitamix, but nobody gave it to us so we boughtone ourselves! After a couple of months, we looooove our VM. We've done daily shakes, our own raw almond butter, soups, sauces, salsas it's so versatile! I even made up my own potato garlic soup recipe among many other creations, so it even makes you be creative in the kitchen while staying healthy. LOVE IT!
