Swiss Chard Green & Onions

If you want something that is very good and healthy that it does not matter how much you eat it won’t hurt you then I have to dish for you its green and onions. Greens and onions are something that is supper simple to make and packed with flavors that your family and friends will love.

Green & Onions

Ingredients

10 cups coarsely chopped Swiss chard (lightly packed) about 1 1/4 lbs.

2 medium sized onions, thinly sliced

1 clove of fresh garlic chopped

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 cup of chicken stock

Sea salt and white pepper to taste

Methods

Note: if you use Swiss chard, include some of the stems when you chop greens.

To begin making this tasty dish heat olive oil or butter in a wide pan over moderate heat; and sauté the onions, and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are tender. Add greens and the chicken stock place a lid on the pan and continue cooking stirring occasionally, for about 10 minutes, or until greens are tender and then season with salt and white pepper.

If you want to take this dish up a notch you can use a mixed blend of mustard greens and kale and you can cooked then in either butter or bacon drippings to really make this dish pop.
