Temecula: Place of Sun
And so many adventures
Temecula is pronounced "Tea-meck-u-LA" not "tim-a-cool-a" as some visitors to this happy beautiful place might say. Temecula is know as the "place of sun" because the unique placement of the mountain range allows for plenty of sun mixed with cooling ocean breezes from the Pacific. Wine growers say it is this mix of sun and sea that makes growing the grapes for excellent tasting wine!
The Luiseno tribe of Pechanga indians were the first inhabitants of this area and gave the city its original name which was changed to Rancho California in the 1970s and then changed back to Temecula because....well....it sounds so much better.
This hub is a pictorial of the many places surrounding this beautiful city. From the casinos on the west side of the city to the wineries on the east side to the wilderness preserve that offers comfort and serenity Temecula is a place that offers something for everyone.
