Recipe: Tomato bath (Rice)

Tomato bath Rice

This is very tasty tomato rice also called tomato bath, it's very easy to make


  1. 2 medium size onions
  2. 6 chillies
  3. 3/4 tbsp garlic paste
  4. 1/2 tbsp ginger
  5. Coriander leaves
  6. curry leaves
  7. 1/4 tbsp garam masala
  8. 4 medium size tomatoes, thinly sliced
  9. 3 cups rice
  10. 5 tbsp oil
  11. few mustard seeds
  12. 1.5 tbsp salt

Preparation method

  • First soak the rice for about 1/2 to 1 hour
  • Heat the oil put mustard seeds then curry leaves
  • Then put chillies and fry for a minute
  • Now put ginger, garlic, onion and garam masala and fry for few minutes
  • Now put tomatoes and coriander leaves and fry well
  • put 6 cups of water and let it come to boiling point
  • now put rice and salt, cook until rice is cooked. Mix everything few times in between.

Enjoy spicy tasty rice..

Its very simple dear. since more tomatos are added its called tomato bath!!!!!!!

The word "Bath" can be confusing. In India this word is used for many dishes, this basically means that rice made with other ingredients. You can make plain rice. But, I guess, if you add other ingredients to the rice it will be called bath.

There is also vangi bath, this is made mainly with Brinjal (egg plant).

Thank you very much for the recipe ... none in my home ... family went to Srisailam ... and I dint wanted to cook rice and curry and stuff ... I here learned how to do tomato batch ... and you know what I did it perfect .... haha ...
