For this recipe, you'll need a proper juicer but the reward will be a cornucopia of delicious nutrition. Tomatoes will give you a large dose of lycopene, one of the most powerful weapons against prostate cancer and heart disease. Carrots come with a huge dose of beta-carotene. Radishes improve digestion and help with gall bladder and liver problems. And coriander, apart from its deliciously peppery flavour, cleanses the system, calms you down - and is also known as an aphrodisiac. (Serves 2)

Carrot: 1

Radishes: 4

Tomatoes: 4

Celery: 1 stick

Fresh coriander: half-handful

Lemon: 1


Put the carrot, radishes, tomatoes, celery and nearly all the coriander through a juicer (no need to peel any of them if they are organic) / Put into a jug and stir well / Juice the lemon and add about 2 teaspoons to the jug / Finely chop the reserved coriander and sprinkle on top of the juiceĀ  / Serve.

Warm the juice well and pour into a vacuum flask for a deliciously different lunchtime soup.
