Waffles and Ice Cream
Looking for a yummy summer time treat? How about some waffles and ice cream.
When I was a kid one of our favorite treats was Waffles with Ice Cream.
My Dad would actually make this for dinner from time to time and my Mom would get mad saying it wasn't healthy. But my Dad said it was made with flour and eggs and milk, so how bad can it be.
All I know is we loved it. He would put it ice cream in between to hot crispy waffles. You had to eat them quickly or they would melt.
Now I continue the tradition with my 3 kids. Once in a while we make a huge batch of waffles and sandwich it around our choice of ice cream. Sometimes we even add nuts and whipped cream.
This is a fun treat that you could even make with frozen waffles.

One of my fondest memories or my childhood is in making homemade ice cream with my Dad. Dad was the one who would mix it all up and then put it in the maker. Then he would add the ice and the rock salt. ...
How To Make Waffles With Ice Cream
- You need to make home made waffles with a great waffle iron. The frozen ones will not cut it!
- Then you need to take two waffles and put a nice scoop on home made ice cream in between making it into an "ice cream sandwich".
- Roll the sides of the sandwich into your favorite topping like nuts or sprinkles.
- Now eat it up before it melts!
A Great Waffle Iron is a Must Have for Waffles and Ice Cream!
Please Don't Use Frozen Waffles!
I know if you don't have a waffle iron, it may be tempting to use frozen. And all though it may be a good treat, you will really be missing out on taste. I promise you there is nothing like waffles and ice cream used with hot home made waffles. They are easy to make and a waffle iron is very inexpensive. It is a great investment and your tummy will love you for it.
