Worlds Best Barbecue Ribs
Tonight I had a real craving for Barbecue Ribs and did not have the time to cook them for myself so I went to a local BBQ Restaurant that was supposed to serve great ribs and to say the least I was disappointed and later glad I purchased only half a rack of ribs and not a full rack .
The ribs I was sold were dry, over cooked and the promised delicious BBQ flavor was sadly missing. They were pretty in the to go container and the smell was inviting but the smell really was the best thing about those ribs. I had asked for extra hot BBQ sauce on the side and it was really a sweet sauce and it had no flavor and no fire. When I say I want a hot barbecue sauce which I do prefer I want hot. So I thought I would share my own recipe for the worlds best Barbecue Ribs. Because yes I truly do believe and have been told by tens of thousands of people that I do make the worlds best barbecue ribs.
My Barbecue Ribs Secret Recipe
Here I will give you all my secrets of how I really do prepare the worlds best barbecue ribs. If you want ribs that you will be addicted to for the rest of your life then these are the ribs you will want.
For your barbecue ribs recipe you will want.
1/2 rack of bone in pork ribs for each person you will be serving ribs to.
Take the plastic or paper off of your ribs and cut into half rack portions. You will now need a large pot that will hold all your ribs. You want to spray your pot very well with a non stick vegetable spray before you add your ribs and cover with water. To your pot add 1 cup of apple cider vinegar for each gallon of water. You will also want to add 1 tablespoon of black pepper and 1 tablespoon of salt to your water. Bring the pot to a boil and when boiling reduce the heat to low to medium and cook for 2-4 hours or until your ribs are very tender. You don't want the meat to fall off the bone but you want them just before that stage. Remove your ribs from the water and set aside on a large tray or in a large pan.
Meantime you will want to make the below Barbecue Sauce
1 Gallon of Ketchup.
1 Cup of Honey with No Comb.
1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar.
1/2 Cup Texas Pete Hot Sauce.
1 Tablespoon Fresh Grated Garlic.
1 Tablespoon Ground Cayenne Pepper
1 Tablespoon Salt.
1 Cup of Pepsi.
Mix all your ingredients in a large pot and bring to a boil. Reduce your heat and let simmer for 1 hour on medium heat stirring often.
Now when you are ready to cook and finish your ribs place your ribs on a preheated charcoal grill and paint them on both sides with the above barbecue sauce with a kitchen brush. Cook your ribs well on both sides until done. Serve your ribs with a side of the above barbecue sauce.
If you don't want your barbecue sauce quite as hot cut the Texas Pete Sauce in half and cut your Cayenne Pepper in half. And I guarantee you that if you follow my recipe that you will have some of the best tasting ribs you will will ever eat.
