How do vegetarians feel towards animals that eat meat?

If some vegetarians are against other people eating meat are they also against animals that eat meat and if not, why?

There are some animals that HAVE to eat meat because they cannot be tamed to know or understand otherwise. There are also some animals whose stomach can only tolerate the meat of other animals and therefore they would be physically unable to digest a herbivorus diet. Animals eating other animals is also essential for maintaining a healthy ecosystem and for the maintaining of other habitats.

I am a vegetarian by the way.

What makes us different is the fact that we do not need meat and we can know better if we really want to. There are far greater protein sources out there than meat, all of which are better for you as well. (Tofu, myco protein products, meat free products that are made from protein, etc)

Some animals, such as dogs and cats, do not need meat and can therefore become vegetarian if their owners feel strongly enough to allow them to, and also if the animal is willing to make that change and adapt to it. Domesticated animals can do this quite easily.

It is the human factor that destroys the animal kindgom. We mass-breed cattle which is polluting the atmosphere all for the sake of meat that we don't really need.

The same applies to introducing foreign species of animals into another country. This lays waste to their ecosystem and habitats because this is not meant to happen.

I have no problem with animals eating the meat of other animals. They are not smart enough, or are not programmed with the power or the physical capabilities to, make that change like we are.

For the record, i'm not against other people eating meat either. It's their body, not mine. My concience is blood-free and that matters most to me, I would never try to force someone else to be vegetarian.

That answer from Wayne sounds like a politician trying to convince us "It's for your own good". Pretzel logic!

As a long-time vegetarian I have no objection to other people eating meat, it is my choice not to eat it, but I do not wish to impose my choice on others. It would be just silly to object to animals eating meat. I am quite happy to feed my cat meat, because he needs it.

I have run across vegetarians who provide their cats and dogs with a strict vegetarian diet. There are some in every bunch...

As someone who practices vegetarianism, in my earlier days when I figured out where meat really comes from I found it barbaric and I felt the need to tell others how bad it really was to eat meat. Then I found myself in a work place with people who found the practice of vegetarianism to be nonesensical or passe, and I put my vegetarian logic in a box and did not open it until several years later when I started to see the resemblances between Man and beast. Eating flesh being a characteristic of either a beast or a man starving in the wild, I found that if I continued eating flesh I would become further detatched from my personal faith in my higher power and become more like that of the beasts that were given names by early Man.
I am no longer for telling others that they should not eat the flesh of other living beings, as I feel that each man will find the answer in due time. If a man sees himself superior than a beast through his sentience then he surely should take inventory of all the issues that place a line between Man and the beast.

I'm vegan. My dog eats dog food with meat in it. I love him to pieces. Just because I made this choice doesn't mean I have to inflict it on other people, or on animals who aren't designed to exist solely on plants.
