   When cooking spaghetti, which is more important to you-seasoning the meat or seasoning the sauce?
   
   In other words, do you season your ground beef to perfection (like I do) and just throw some jarred spaghetti sauce with it OR do you painstakingly make your own sauce and season it to perfection and just add some plain 'ole browned beef to it?

   I'm married to an Italian.....Of course, it's homemade sauce I season to perfection. A plain jar of spaghetti sauce will not do in our house.

   For me it's actually both, although I do watch the salt! But what gives the dish it's final touch it is the freshly grated cheese that I add last. OK now I am craving pasta!

   I salt the water to boil the pasta, season the meat, and I will get a jar/can of the cheapest store brand sauce and kick it up a few notches!
   
   I will NEVER eat plain ground beef... ewww.
   
   Quick fix > season ground beef with pepper, salt, garlic powder, and a little bit of red pepper spice such as cayenne, chili powder, paprika, red pepper flakes or some good hot sauce like tapatio or chulula. And something green,  like parsley or oregano. I also find that if I add a small bit of hard cheese it ads some great depth to the meat.
   
   and right as the meat is done, i will add a little bit of store bought salsa.

   It depends... When I have time, I definitely do try to perfect my own sauce.
   
   Sometimes though, if I don't have any time on my hands, jarred spaghetti sauce with the ground beef works perfectly well. I am fussy about the type (make) of sauce I use though!

   I never use canned sauce. I always make my own. I first cook the meat, then I make a homemade sauce which I add the cooked meat to and simmer everything for at least an hour.

   It has to be both. Who wants bland meat in their spaghetti? The sauce and meat have to be seasoned to perfection!

   I make my own sauce. It's so easy and you can season to your own liking. I am nuts about chillies so beware my sauce. lol

    For me, any kind of pasta is all about the sauce. I just love sauce. Sometimes I add meat to spaghetti sauce and sometimes I don't. While I may or may not start a spaghetti sauce with something from a jar, I add tomato sauce, tomatoes, spices to taste, mushrooms,onions, bell peppers, and sometimes black olives. It doesn't even need meat, unless I'm just in the mood. If I do put meat in, I prefer meatballs rather than the meat mixed throughout the sauce.

    I always make my own red sauce but season the meat anyway. Plain browned ground doesn't have the flavor I want no matter how the sauce is done.

    Actually it's best to season along the way hence season everything. I make my own sauce cos it's super easy to make. So basically you want to season the meat, the sauce and the pasta water so that everything has it's own flavor brought to life with the help of salt. Hope this helps!

    When I serve spaghetti, the meat IS part of the sauce.   To me, they are inseperable.

    I agree they are one in the same.  I cook the meat first and then add the seasoning and sauce to the meat the let them simmer.  Can't have one without the other
