Kobe Beef is particularly tender and tasty, and comes from Wagyu cattle. The cows are reared according to ancient traditions in Japan, although you can now by British and American versions which are supposed to be pretty good, although not quite as good as the real thing. As with the likes of champagne and cognac, the British and American versions cannot be called Kobe beef - only the kobe beef from Hy?go Prefecture in Japan can bear the name. Kobe beef is quite fatty and highly marbled, and rather expensive. But if you want the best..... you have to pay that little bit extra!
