Swiss cheese is a favorite of mine for these sandwiches - Swiss, Muenster, and Cheddar all at once. Whole wheat or rye is what I use as well. Glad to see you here!
I have had cheddar too but I never tried Muenster. What is that like?
Muenster is a white cheese that to me is rather mild and nutty-flavored. Smooth when melted.
I love nuts, maybe I will try that. I had the sandwich for lunch and added Onion Powder, Garlic Powder and Paprika. Then heated it in the toaster oven and mmmm, mmmm.
