Lots of parents don't understand about nutrition and choosing healthy foods, how to cook them etc. If you'd like some help, there's a free on-line course available through Stanford University. I have studied other subjects via coursera.org and recommend you enrol if you'd like to learn more.
You'll be studying under a Lecturer from Stanford School of Medicine. There is no fee, and you don't need any previous qualifications. In the interests of your children's health (and your own), I suggest you take a look.
