Korean Style Short Ribs

Meat entrees are often the centerpieces for elegant dinner parties, and for good reason: In addition to their fine flavor, most cuts, such as steaks, scallops, ribs and chops are fast and easy to prepare and these ribs that I am going to share with you fits that bill they lend themselves to a wide variety of preparations and today that’s what we are doing with these Korean Style Short Ribs.

Korean Style Short Ribs

Ingredients

1 cup of soy sauce

1/2 cup of oriental sesame oil

6 large cloves of garlic, minced

1/4 cup of chopped green onions

1/4 cup of sugar

2 teaspoons of sesame seeds

1/2 teaspoon of distilled white vinegar

1/2 teaspoon of dry mustard

1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper

8 large beef short ribs

Methods

Combine first 9 ingredients in medium bowl. Remove any excess fat from ribs. Score at 1/2 inch intervals almost to bone. Place ribs in a zip lock plastic bag then add the marinade over the ribs. Place the ribs in the refrigerator and let them marinate for at least 6 hours or overnight.

Preheat broiler. Transfer ribs to broiler rack, draining marinade. Broil about 3 inches from heat until charred, about 8 minutes per side. Serve immediately.
