Vodka Rating List and Reviews

Vodka Rating List and Reviews

After four years in college, I have had my fair share of trying different types of alcohol. Actually, I was in a fraternity, so I have really had my fair share of alcohol. My favorite type of liquor and the one that most Americans now prefer is vodka. It goes the best with mixers and goes down the smoothest in the form of a shot. There are a vast variety of vodkas, which vary in price, country of origin and flavor. My goal here is to go through the main ones that we have all heard of and give you an honest vodka rating for each one based on my experience. And no, I am not drinking a little of each one all at once!

I am going to rank each of the vodka brands below in order from best to worst. Along with that I will provide a little bit of information.

1) Stolichnaya

This is the best vodka out there on the market. Stoli is still made in Russia and has gained popularity in recent years. I have found that it has the best vodka flavors on the market and has quite a distinct taste.

-Made in Russia

-Moderately Expensive

2) Ketel One

Ketel One is a relatively close second to Stoli. This vodka goes down the smoothest in the form of a shot. I also noticed it has a slightly pleasant aftertaste. In terms of mixing, it is on the same level as any other top shelf vodka.

-Made in Holland

-Moderately Expensive

3) Grey Goose

Grey Goose is one of the most well known brands out there, but its notoriety does not necessarily translate into the best tasting vodka. It is a premium vodka, but is no better than Stoli or Ketel One. Its price is quite steep. I will say it has the nicest looking bottle.

-Made in France

-Expensive

4) Absolut

This is a good brand, except for one thing. The shots are not smooth. I always thought Absolut went down rough and had a burning sensation as it went down. Despite this, it is a good brand for mixing and does hold its own with the others.

-Made in Sweden

-Moderately Expensive

5) Smirnoff

Smirnoff has very high name recognition, but I think of it as the “Walmart brand” of vodka. It is not bad, but it certainly is not at the top of the list either. I probably have had more Smirnoff than any other brand because it also happens to be the cheapest, and in college that is what counts. This is your brand if you are on a budget, but if not, then aim higher. Also, Smirnoff has the largest variety of flavored vodka, but not necessarily the best flavors.

-Made in Russia

-Cheap

With vodka growing each and every year in popularity, a vodka rating matters in determining which ones are worth trying. I am a firm believer in trying everything yourself, at least once. The above list is meant to be a road map of sorts to help you along the way. Often money is a factor and also how you plan on consuming the vodka. Shots and mixed drinks are two separate beasts that need to be tackled differently. In case you have not tried them before, I recommend trying flavored vodka at least once. It makes shots go down easier and is a good mixer, depending on the flavor. Next time you are at a party, bar, or the store, take a look at the different kinds and give one a try. It may well open your eyes to a whole new experience.

This is the worst vodka list I have ever seen. Where's Belvedere, Chopin, Ultimat, Luksusowa, Pravda?

I'm sorry, but the previous reviewer is "absolutely" correct. Not only is this list incomplete, but doesn't seem to be interested in in quality products.

This is horrible research... Smirnoff is based in the United States. I agree with the first post on the list too.

Has anyone heard of "SIKU" Vodka? It is made in the Netherlands... I can find no ratings on it and the only reference on the Google is an Ad by SIKU.

PEOPLE! VODKA CAN BE WHATEVER U WANT IT TO BE REGARDLESS OF THE PRICE.....U CAN BE A VODKA SNOB OR U CAN JUST WANT A NICE DRINK OF VODKA AND I HAVE FOUND AND SO DID MANY OTHER PEOPLE THAT BURNETTS VODKA IS A GREAT DRINK. IT IS 4 TIMES DISTILLED AND 3 TIMES FILTERED TO DELIVER A GREAT VODKA TASTE. SO U GUYS OUT THERE WHO THINK U NEED TO PAY A HIGH PRICE FOR GOOD VODKA-----ARE SO WRONG!

I used to work In a liquor store and would have to say that Siku is the smoothest and best tasting vodka Ive ever had... Its made from glaciers in Greenland... Siku actually means ice in Greenlandic... If you haven't tried it then u should. I used to be an Absolut man but after Siku, Ill never go back... Oh and btw... I personally think Grey Goose is the most overrated and overpriced vodka out there... Samething with Patron tequila
