I tried emailing the hub team, but I haven't gotten a response. Maybe this will work. I hate doing this, but I'm going to do it anyway :-/

    The link:
    http://hubpages.com/hub/Crested_Gecko_Care

On my mac at work, pulling up this link freezes firefox.
On my mac at work, I have no probelsm with the link in safari.

On my pc at home, cannot post comments to the hub in IE.
On my pc at home, no problems with Firefox with either posting comments or freezing web broswer.

(No IE on mac and no Safari on my pc, so I haven't been able to test out those web browsers.)

It's a little friustrating to have to pull up a separate browser to submit a comment or do anything with the hub period.

mmm. here is my recommedation on mac as I have one, log onto www.apple.com click on support and type in troubleshooting on the left hand of the page there is a list discussions, downloads, etc. you may be able to find the answer there, if not contact Apple's tech support as it is free and they can advise you on what has to be done on the Mac my guess is, that you can only open the page on the mac under safari.

You can place IE on a Mac this I do know as there isn't any supprt to do that and unless you are a guru and if and only if you have Windows Vista can you utilize Safari on a pc. this answer you will also find under apples support information. All of the issues are in the mac and pc's as I have been there , I hope this helps. smile

One last thing if you have made any changes to your PC at home under the settings this is where the issue you can lie as well. www.microsoft.com should help you as well although I don't care much for there customer service. Good Luck!!

    Hi Whitney05,

As far as the freezes, I checked it out and I didn't get a freeze.  One test might be to start closing applications on your machine and see if the problem this occurs.

As far as comments on IE, there is a known problem with the next updates to HubPages planned for this week.  I'll post here when it's out.

On the mac at work, typically, Firefox and Entourage are the only two applications open. I'm not on the mac anymore, as I've changed desks, and a PC is on that computer, but with the change of desk, that means change of duties, and I cannot get on HP at work right now.

As for IE, is there a reason as to why this is the only hub I've had problems with?

Have you tried changing the editor from your profile page? I had the same problem a few weeks ago and when I switched the editor back to the old one everything started working. Even now i can't use the new editor.

          Hi SirDent,

Besides the comment issue, are there any other problems that occur when you use the new editor?  The comment issue should be fixed by Monday.

We are encouraging everyone to switch over to the new editor so I would be very interested in hearing about problems that people are still hitting.

          Thanks,

          -Larry

        Hi Whitney05,

The problem relates to how long a page takes to load.  So, the IE problem only occurs on certain hubs at certain times.

I spoke to Paul Deeds and the plan is to push out the fix either tomorrow or over the weekend.  So, it should be fixed by Monday.

I switched back to the old editor because of a pasting problem I had
    I write in a text editor - q10
I ctrl-c/ctrl-v the text into text capsule
On ctrl-v the pop up windows opens - a copy the text in and hit insert
Normally the first few words are to go in my title - so  I want to now highlight the first say 6 words and ctrl-c from the body and ctrl-v into the title
But I cant select the text until I have closed the text capsule and reopened it
    VERY annoying!

      Hi Lissie, Everyone,

We just posted an update to the cut-and-paste for Version 3 of the text editor.  This should fix the issue that you raised.

If anyone is still experiencing cut-and-paste problems with the editor, please let me know.

      Thanks,

      -Larry
