How do you feel about Megan Fox NOT being in Transformers 3?

   According to recent news, Michael Bay decided he wants to take the transformers franchise in a different direction, so he decided to recast the part mikaela in the new sequel.  of course, he did say it had NOTHING to do with Megan Fox's interview with a British Magazine, where she compared Bay to Adolf Hitler.  I don't know about that to be quite honest.
   
   what i would like to ask you all is a few simple questions.  do you think bay is right for doing this?  if so why?  or do you think that he's over reacting?  plus, i would like to know, who do you think needs each other more.  Does transformers 3 need megan fox more than she needs that movie?  or is megan fox missing out?  please discuss.

      The reality is Megan Fox is expendable and she offended the man in charge. Yes, she is a beautiful superstar but there are plenty of those in Hollywood.

         as much as i hate to say this, but i do agree with you completely.  seriously, outside of her looks, megan fox was never a great actress.  in fact, in both movies unless she was crying, she always had an emotionless expression on her face, that made it impossible to relate to her.
         
         that's why it kind of bothers me that an actress like Gabourey Sidibe, who put on a great performance in "Precious" is barely getting offers for more parts.  while megan fox is getting tons of those.  which is unfair because Gabourey is a helluva a better actress than her.  i guess that speaks volumes about our society as we value a person's looks over their actual abilities.  sad, but it's a inconvenient truth.

   What difference would matter? She is a hot looking lady, but it's just another role in a movie. Even, the reasons for her not doing the movie is also irrelevant. So, why would anyone want to discuss it?

      i don't know.  i just find it kind of interesting because the only two things that were even remotely good about the transformers live action films were the special effects and how hot she was in both films.  therefore, i kind of find it interesting that michael bay would use the excuse of "im taking the film in a new direction", just to recast her after she slammed him in a british magazine.  I just find it funny.  Don't get me wrong, i don't ever gloat over people's miseries or problems. 
      
      However, i do think michael bay is not only one of the most overrated directors out there, but he's also a GIANT HYPOCRITE.  the reason i say this is because I remember watching him in an interview before he took on the first movie where he said and I quote:  "I only take on movies that have a good story."
      
      Yeah, that's kind of funny to me considering the fact that the LAST transformers movie didn't even finish the script until they shot the last scene, according to his own writers for "transformers:  revenge of the fallen."  yet he allegedly only cares about story.  my thoughts are if all you really care about is special effects and money, then please for the love of god don't lie to my face about it.  trust me, i would have way more respect for bay if he just came out and said that "story isn't important, it's about entertaining the audience."  if he said something like that, then i'd respect him.  however, since he claims to care about story content, when NONE of his movies ever had a great story.... All I can say to that is...."yeah keep telling yourself that...you freaking hack!"

   I'd never heard of her until I watched Transformers. I don't recall seeing her in anything after that until Transformers 2. Let's face it, Optimus Prime and the other transformers are the stars of the movie. She wasn't really all that great in the last one anyway. She's just nice to look at sitting in a new Camaro!!

   The underlying theme that Bay was going for or at least one of them is Sam's journey from boyhood into manhood and how that journey is paralleled by the Autobots own journey. In the first movie you saw Sam get his first car, his first real love, his first kiss(I am assuming given his nerdy archetype)then in the second film you see a maturing of that character as he goes off to college, long distance relationship, saying I love you for the first time so the natural progression is break up and loss so I have no problem if they want to leave Megan Fox out of the next one if they are moving Sam's character in that direction.
   
   However if they dropped her due to the comments and the rumor surrounding the last film and they bring in yet another token hottie to further appeal to the young boy crowd then that is just wrong. Progress the character but don't try to parade an endless stream of mid-riff baring, pouty lipped sex objects out there just to sell tickets. I don't buy that. Bay will do what he normally does make sure there is enough eye candy that we don't notice what we are missing.

    well leeberttea, i like your confidence to get any of these girls.  i would agree with cagsil about your chances, but seeing how that one guy ended up with sandra bullock, who was way out of his league.  sure, it ended with him cheating on her, but still she was too good for the guy.  i mean seriously, who was he before sandra married him?
    
    therefore, im sure if your in the right place at the right time, then you might end up with any of these girls.  the key word here is MIGHT.  anyway, good luck to you.

    I think that those movies are about having a decent plot to carry the real lure which is cool special effects,Shia LaBeouf's sarcasm, and a hot chick.  While I think Miss Fox is simply delightful to gaze upon, truth is, any Hollywood hottie will do.  A flick of a writer's pen for why, and maybe spritz of something wet looking on the replacement's cleavage during her debut scene and nobody will think twice about the change.

          Yes, you are right.  But I will point out that I didn't say they need a great, well execute storyline, just a "decent plot."  Doesn't take much, just a plausible reason for why the robots are fighting and the hot chick is there sweating into her decolletage.

             yeah, your right, and the sad thing here is this.  great movies like "invictus", "precious", "children of men" and many others that DO have great stories won't make anywhere near the amount of money the transformers movies will make because America would rather watch movies that rape their eyeballs visually then be entertained with a great story.  that's the real sad part.
             
             hell, just look at the remake of clash of the titans.  that film was royally a piece of s***, but people loved it because of the special effects.  go figure.

                Tell me about it.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE to have my eyeballs raped, but I totally hear you.  Great writing gets crapped on over and over and over and over and over and over and over in Hollywood. And even when they do get a good story, most of the time they destroy it.  Bottom line is, the majority of people shelling out coin for movies don't want to think, so good movies "flop" financially, which means less get made, which also flop, until pretty soon it's going to be all foreign films, at which point, even I am too lazy to work that hard.  If I'm going to have to read my movie, I'll just get the book.

          The only reason I say that is because...you do not know if she is talking about the topic of the forum, or if she was talking about the lack of ability of writers of movies?
          
          I personally think she was talking about the inability of writers to write a decent plot for movies and not so much concerned about the actress itself.
          
          Then again, that's just an assumption, which sometimes works out, depending on how much is known about the person who makes the broad based statements that Kimberly did.
          
          Just a thought.

    I thought it was a stretch for the story to feature Megan fox and shitty labofant in the second film, I hope they really mess the 3rd film up with some more new transformers and leave out the original cartoons classic and iconic transformers.

    Megan Fox doesn't make the movie.  Her character is minor.  But it's a good chance to get another eye candy a shot at glory.  Who?  That should be something fun for fans of the movie in the next few months.
