How to Hubs are poorly written

   Hi,
   
   I'm pretty new here and I'm trying to learn how to increase traffic to my hubs. I've poked around some of the forums and read five or ten hubs that were written by people who claim to have this all figured out and are making money. I've found most of these "How to" hubs to be virtually unreadable due to spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. Are these hubbers really making money? Do they put more effort into their "real" hubs than they do to ones that target fellow hubbers?

      It sounds to me like you're not reading the right people's Hubs. Check out sunforged, ryankett, Mark Knowles, Peter Hoggan, Nelle Hoxie....off the top of my head. Those people are not only making money, they're making a living, and they all know how to write.
      
      If you're already reading those people and calling them un-readable, then you're a bit of a stickler, and I can only advise you to get over it.

   Hey Bill, I am not sure who you been reading and getting traffic to your hubs can be a complicated thing. You were right not to leave it to those who apparently are not really making anything.

      Thanks, and no, those hubbers weren't on my list. I will definitely check them out.  One of the more confusing topics to me is "linking". I think that this may be so rudimentary to experienced hubbers that they gloss over it, under the assumption that everyone knows what they're talking about. I understand that it's good to link to your hubs from outside sources, but is it important to link your hubs to other hubs?  If so, how?

   You can use the "links" capsule to connect your hubs together, at least the ones that are related in some way. You do not want to be putting unrelated hub links on your hubs, it will do no good. And, make your viewer/reader not want to come back.
   
   Here are a couple more links about backlinking and seo(keywords/tags and other stuff).
   
   The last article I gave you was for a Hub written by Sunforged, one of the resident computer "geeks" HubPages has a for writers.
   
   You could probably run through Darkside's hubs and find his HubPages Hubs, which can give you the best instruction for utilizing your hubs and the features on them.

   if your hubs are related in topic, you can also group them together while in the edit mode. at the top it says groups, and you choose the category for that hub. if you have other hubs in the same category, make sure you also have it grouped.
   
   another way is within the text itself. you can use hyperlinks with a word or phrase and make it a link by highlighting the word or phrase and clicking the link icon while the text capsule is open. there's a drop down box of your hubs and click on the one you want to link to.  I hope that makes sense.
