The American Taxpayer should pay ZERO of any clean up costs.  And while there is no way to calculate the devastation to the environment I have no problem billing them for years to come.

"BP has plenty of liquidity and very little gearing. At the end of March, according to FactSet data, it had $70 billion in current assets, including cash, receivables and inventory, to set against $62 billion in short-term liabilities and $24 billion in long-term debt. Pretax income last year was $21 billion on sales of $241 billion. Dividends came to $10.6 billion in 2009, although partly paid with borrowings."  Source:  Wall Street Journal

$70 billion is not much, especially when it includes assetts such as oil rigs.

$70 Billion is not much?  It's more than Bill Gates is worth.

    It looks like this:

    $70,000,000,000

    That's the same as

1,400,000 jobs at $50,000 A YEAR!  Yeah that's not much?

Geez... can you even do math?  On what planet is that not much? It's more than the GDP of over 120 countries!!!

Exxon paid less than $5 Billion for their spill.

The point is there is plenty of money for BP to pay for the clean up without the American Tax Payer being stuck with the bill.

Texaco on the other hand nearly destroyed Ecuador then bailed out of any repsonsibility vis bankruptcy court.

And all news is rehashed.  But for those of us who actually have jobs and don't have time to be TROLLS in every forum the NEW in NEWS is only relevant in so far as the source.

Every AP and Reuters story is Rehashed.

So when Cagsil The Troll gets over himself then he may wakeup to the fact that the World Doesn't revolve around his useless opinon.

    Forums are for all.
