You never know the truth in these incidents. Remember Bin Laden's mass destruction weapons ? LOL Never existed !
So I don't believe these people were 'militants' at all.
We all know Press is bought.

How do you know they never existed?
      You don't.

Correction: Saddam Hussein's weapons of mass destruction, not Bin  Laden's. If you don't know these weapons didn't exist then I believe you shouldn't be commenting in politics forums.

Thanks for the correction. Yes I meant Saddam.

I don't recall any thing about bin laden having WMDs...

I may have heard it briefly as a rumor... but not reported.

      You mean Saddam?

      He did.

          So you do mean Saddam?

We found Gas in Iraq... the same gas that killed 5000+ kurds in one shot.

          That isn't a WMD?

The left can scream what they want... Saddam demonstrated he had them when he used them, and we found them.

Yes that was because the United States supplied the gas  before the first Gulf War in 1991.  After that war there were pledges monitored by the United Nations to disarm Iraq of WMD's.  Weapon Inspector's including Hans Blix found no weapons during there aborted search for them...

We found them during the war. They were there.

            You didn't find anything

President Bush later said that the biggest regret of his presidency was "the intelligence failure" in Iraq,[16] while the Senate Intelligence Committee found in 2008 that his administration "misrepresented the intelligence and the threat from Iraq".[17]

Yes we found Gas. We did not find yellow cake supposedly, but then what did canada buy from iraq?, or WMDs other than Gas.

              but we found gas.

Since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, several reported finds of chemical weapons were announced. During the invasion itself, there were half a dozen incidents in which the U.S. military announced that it had found chemical weapons. All of these claims were based on field reports, and were later retracted.

It is unusual to find anyone left in the world who is so ignorant about the reality of the Iraq fiasco, the lies and deception and the administration responsible for it along with Haliburton making all the money while good American soldiers died.

It is not often we see such moronic statements about finding WMD, or the re-hashing of the discovery of a few empty ancient site offices that even you own government agreed were not chimicala labs.  It is unusual to see such stupidity that still does not know such simple facts like Saddam gassing the Kurdish people was copying the British when they were there who also gassed the Kurdish people.

In fact it is unusual to see such a ridiculous fool persisting in promoting such nonsense - Maybe you also tell all your friends that the Nazi's did not have death camps and that all this was made up by 'lefty's' eh !

Yes, stupidity... like China bringing peace to the world.

That is a bit of stupidity for the history books.

It is much more likely that China will do better than those who have had a go before. Self interest, raging greed and war lust are bringing down the current dominant nation, just like all those before through history. You better hope they are better at it than you, if they followed your ways you would find yourself under attack from all around under a screen of lies only believed by narrow minded bigots.

Forgive them as they only listen and read what their leaders wish them to know.

Whatever we found or didn't find was no justification for Bush's preemptive warfare. It's clear that Iraq was not a threat in any way to the United States. Two factors prompted our foolish, costly action 1. The Israel lobby and the Neocons and 2. Cheney and Bush's Texas oil buddies.

Yes... China will bring world peace to mankind.... unhummm. I bet the Tibetans cannot wait... or them Uighers... yes world peace is china's great goal.

    1. alternate poet profile image67
alternate poetposted 13 years agoin reply to this

It is not about China bringing peace - any change to the world order is more likely to bring peace than the current hate mongering christian backed setup that benefits the very few at the expense of the very very many

I guess most people don't care who will be the next top-dog as long as it changes - and it is views like those of TM that do the most damage to its own country.

I don't intend to comment again on this thread as I am busy and the smell of b******t and trolls is nauseating.
