I am new to Hubpages and created 2 hubs to try it out. I made the mistake of removing the hyphens from the hub name and don't know if they can be put back? Obviously I do not have spaces between the words which is not good. My hubs are: http://hubpages.com/hub/BasicPuppyTraining
    http://hubpages.com/hub/BeatingWritersBlock
    Any ideas welcome.
    Thanks in advance.

I don't believe you can put them back. You could delete and start over if you want the words read separately on Google.

You can not put them back. However, if you really need the hyphens back, unpublish these hubs and write new ones with hyphens in the URL.

But, you don't need to do the unpublishing thing, because from the SEO aspect, your URLs are fine. And from the looks aspect, they look neat.

And as for the spaces, they would be the last thing you want in your URL and I don't think HP will allow spaces in URLs.

And finally, a big welcome to Hubpages!!! smile

By going into edit mode, you can easily change the title without altering the URL.

Never change titles after publishing. Google doesn't like that.

              Not true.

I've had some Hubs go on to much greater success after changing the title.

Urls without hyphens are actually preferred by Google and changing the title doesn't upset Google at all, as long as your url and your title have some sort of relationship. For example:

Goldenretrieverpuppytraining.com and "Best Training Methods for Golden Retriever Puppies" will do just fine, SY

Does google really not like hyphens?? Bummer. That information would've been useful for me to find out about 84 hubs ago smile. I've learnt so much today, and yet sooooooo much more to find out. How does Google know where one word finishes in the URL and the other begins. If I wear to write .../hub/soothiepacifier... does it recognise the 'soothie' and 'pacifier' individually?

I really need to meet this Google fellow, buy him a couple of drinks, and get to know him better, he's still a mystery to me.

It does not matter... dashes, dots, underscores, or no spaces between the words, google still sees them as separate words.

Mr Google is so clever. Thanks for letting me know. I'm going to experiment a bit.
