Post a link to a positive song, I think the world needs some positive vibes right now.

I've been immersed in 60s music lately. This is The Rascals A Beautiful Morning.

I listen to a lot of weird stuff. Here's a love song that comes to mind....

Foxy Shazam, "French Passion Animality Opera"

    Very energetic, quirky, and positive.

this one is sad; powerful....Johnny Cash reflecting on his life and shortly after his wife died...but I love it...he was such a good musician...

      This is an outstanding cover.

I remember reading somewhere that when Trent Reznor (who wrote it) first heard Cash's recording of it, he said it was much more powerful than Nine Inch Nails' original version.

      smile
      Johnny's the man.

SomewayOuttaHereposted 13 years agoin reply to this

really....I didn't realize Johnny didn't write it...thought he was reflecting on his own life...kinda made sense that he recorded it after his wife died.....yea he's the man alright!!  love his voice!

hee hee I actually use two fingers too.
(Except when I get hostile. lol )

yeah, Nine Inch Nails belongs to Gen X. I'm a huge fan.
Johnny destroyed this song for me. When I hear the NIN original, it feels like it is a rip-off big_smile

I don't even like to listen to Reznor singing it. It belongs to Johnny Cash now. What he did with this is phenomenal. The song was written about drug use, and look what Cash turned it into.
            Love it!

Here is the original if you're interested (but bad quality - can't find a good one)

SomewayOuttaHereposted 13 years agoin reply to this

yea...Johnny blew that song out of the water...it's his voice...i thought it was about his life and drugs of course in there....but after hearing TR sing it...and what you said about drug use - it makes sense.

Thanks for posting that for me to listen to!

a few years back, the Henry Ford Museum here in Detroit had a Motown exhibit. I spent the day wandering around with my mouth hanging wide open lol It was amazing.

I've been to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland too. That was an awesome day - but it didn't hold a candle to the exhibit at HFM.

Got the rock from Detroit and soul from Motown ~Kid Rock

It gets right into my imagination hee hee

I know what all the characters look like, how they are dressed, what the buildings look like...
It's my own little Watchtower World.
Whenever I hear it, it's like a video playing in my head along with the song.
Does that make me a nerd?  (yes. tongue )

I've got respect for Satriani, good stuff, but I was always a bigger fan of Steve Vai.

Which brings us to Whitesnake. lol

This was before Vai was with the band, but it is one of the first songs I put on my brand spanking new iPod, years ago...
