What happens when I spam a hub?

I have been spamming hubs that are solely created to promote other websites (such as watching sports events online for free); what happens when I do this. Is there somebody looking into it and do such hubs get removed? I am only trying to protect hubpages and stop people misusing it.

Wouldn't it be better just to rate them down and/or to report them to the HP staff?  With the hundreds of thousands of Hubs out there, how will staff know how to locate the ones you have spammed?  Your spamming could probably get you in trouble, rather than the other person, I would think.  But I've only been here about the same amount of time as you, premierkj, so I'm sort of guessing.

isn't spamming reporting it? I'm pretty sure it is in this context anyhow

No, reporting ("flagging") a hub for spam is quite the opposite of "spamming" a hub.

They are spamming, you are reporting.

You'll need to watch your words lest you give yourself an undeserved reputation as a spammer.

You keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think it means.

Why are you spamming?  Is it your ambition to get your own activities moderated and curtailed?

What do you mean by spamming? I went back through the last 13 days of your Hubtivity; counted a total of 17 comments that you had left on other hubs, not a single one of which had been unapproved. I could not see any instances where you had left more than 2 comments on the same hub.

when you mark a hub down, an option comes up with spam on it. if you click on that a bunch of options comes up where you have to indicate why you disapprove. that is where i clicked on inappropriate advertising. probably doesn't come up on my hub activity.

In that case, you have been misunderstood by everyone on this thread. If you were "spamming" someone, which is the phrase you have used, you would be leaving lots of "spammy" comments on the hubs, and most or all of your comments would likely be unapproved.

What you are actually talking about is reporting spam, which is a very different thing. The moderators will decide in each case whether or not the hub contains spam. If it does, the hub will be unpublished by the moderator, and it is then up to the hubber to clean it up before submitting it. If the moderators judge that the hub is within the Terms of Service (TOS), nothing will happen.

Precisely.  That was why I reacted and commented as I did.

Good move, WE, in asking about what he meant.

I see, your not spamming hubs you are reporting spam hubs. You might get a little medal on your profile saying you help keep hp clean or something. I always report spam on the forums and noticed something like that on my profile, felt rather proud smile
