I've always been a bit "different" than others. I don't go with the flow, preferring to do my own thing. One of the things I don't do that most do is watch TV.

I have not owned a TV in about 15 years. I think it's a big waste of time and makes you dumb, the shows are horrible. Even if there are good shows I can think of better ways to spend my life than sitting around watching a box.

I just think it's a waste of life to be honest. Having said that I do spend all my time on my computer, mainly because I work at home on it.

I get my news from it, updates and yes I watch movies on it, I do like movies. So I suppose you could say I ditched the TV but replaced it with my computer.

Anyway does anyone else here not even own a TV, or never watches it?  hmm

I own a TV but no longer have cable. Best thing I ever did was get rid of it! I use it for movies and just finished watching Modern Times with Charlie Chaplin smile

I don't own A TV either.  I actually own six of them, but I never watch more than one at a time.  You are right though, most of the 900 channels I get have nothing but crap on them.  I mean, how can you have 900 channels of programming and still can't find anything worth watching?

I have one TV and it is used exclusively for watching dvd or blu ray movies.

I don't have cable either - it is horribly expensive to run per month in Australia, an average of US$40 per month for all channels.

I have a TV but rarely turn it on. Weather forecasts are useful from it in winter, tho.

I have one, but I don't watch it. I only use it for my gaming consoles mostly, and it's also used as an alarm clock to wake up to.

We disconnected our DirecTV several years ago when we realized we utilized information online and didn't need the TV.  We watch movies, etc. online and the few programs we like can be found online as well.

Thanks for the replies. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who rarely watches TV. The way you hear about TV shows all over you would think that it's part of survival! tongue

I own one, but it is primarily used out of boredom.  Nearly all the channels I watch are such as history channe, discovery, science channel, etc.  The "informative" ones.

Since I discovered HP it is seldom on, except for nap time - puts me right to sleep!

I still have one in my possession, but since the cessation of analog broadcasting in the US this past year, it's now an official, dust-gathering, relic.  My younger sister who also lives with me hasn't owned a television set ever.

I own a very old and dated, very small screened one and people probably think Im odd for not owning 'the latest' one, but it is not important to me, I can think of more important things to spend my money on!

I had a TV that was so old and decrepit it didn't even pick up all available stations and some of the ones it did receive, it got very badly. So I didn't even bother getting a converter box for that thing when the digital conversion happened, I just let it go blank and have not had a functional TV since then... that's one en tire year ago this month. Doesn't really matter all that much when virtually every TV series is available online, anyhow.

In Canada we have Rogers Cable. A very greedy provider!I know people who are paying like 300 dollars a month for all channels, crazy! I moved in April, so I cancelled my cable TV, stuck for now a piece of wire into my cable output/input and I can watch 3 channels:TVO - local/Toronto, one French - no use for me I do not know French and one non-English , so basically just one channel for now. But I do not have time to watch it, I was just giving Rogers Cable my hard earned money so I can watch a bunch of stupid commercials! But you can watch a lot on computer now. Mine is just too old.

I do own a TV. My kids use it to watch DVD cartoons, and my wife occasionally uses it to watch a movie over Internet. Oh, and we have Wii connected to it. smile
