I just did a google search of my username, and came up with some very stramnge websites that have my username in their search. Websites that I know I had nothing to do with.
Something about Gaymillionairs club, and then the subject of the link has nothing to do with the title. Also, something to do with someones wedding aniversary, and travel for singles.
I also noticed some links with foreign writing. I'm wondering if someone is using my username to get hits to their websites.
This might work to my advantage, but, I still think it's weird.
Anyone else notice this?
Yeah I found links to my hubs in the title of google search results and couldn't find them when I clicked on the page ?
Bizarre.. maybe it is some new spamming trick
Let me get this straight?
Your at such a level of reknown that your name is a magic ticket to gaining visitors!
..Im guessing mancandy isnt a completely unique word and BRI is certainly not very rare
thanks for the laugh
No, if you do a google search for Brimancandy, the entire word comes up as a single word, it is not split up. If it were, I would get zillions of "Man" and "Candy" links. Only a few thousand show up.
A few of the sites are related to things I have posted. But, some have nothing to do with it. Look it up, or better yet, google your own username.
It's probably just someone else who has used the same username all their life, I have someone out there who uses the same username as me, and it can be annoying when we are both trying to sign up to the same thing.
I don't see anyway in which someone stealing your username could be beneficial though!
Hey, I had no idea that Johnny Depp's daughter's name is Lily Rose - cool!
'Bi_man_candy' (similar) does sound like the sort of name that might appear on a site for gay millionaires.

In the past few days, I have received two Google Alerts about my HubPages' Username, ThePracticalMommy. Usually when I get these alerts, it's concerning people who stole my content and used it on their website, but these past two have been foreign sites who just use my username and that's it. I'm...

Just checked it on Alexa.com, and realized which (alleged) effect the Panda updates of Google has on traffic. Although I'm still happy with the traffic my Hubs have, are the foundations increasingly eroding. Are there any ideas to change this trend? http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/hubpages.com

I have had some articles that for over 4 years ranked pretty high on Google, and now, since the latest update, other websites are outranking them. So I decide I want to learn more... What do these websites offer to outrank mine? I go on them, and this is what I see:-The articles are much shorter...

I just went to Google to search my URL (cardia.hubpages.com) to see how it ranks, and I noticed that articles and other things by another Hubber who has a really similar name to mine (she has an extra letter in it)is showing up, and not mine at all.I was just wondering if this would hurt my...

I decided to check to see where some of my hubs fall when I do a google search in various ways, and, it is very weird how some of those searches turn up stuff that has nothing to do with my hubs.I typed in the title of one of my hubs, and I came up with a whole bunch of sites related to businesses....
