Hub Pages should file DMCA Complaint for this Copyright Violation and prevent redirection of all hubs and data to this domain without permission. That guy will be making millions with adsense on this domain.

It looks like a redirect back to her hubpages account, How is that wrong? Millions in Adsense? That's pretty funny.

That's it! I know what I have to do now.  Take my domain name, dust it off, and redirect it to my Hubpages profile!

      Yea, that's the ticket. wink

Shirley my millions were made and lost already. I am working it all up again to make more millions. Maybe I could buy another domain and use it the same way.

I just had an epiphany, (spelling?). If I but 30 domains and redirect them all to me profile, I could make much more money even faster. I amaze myself sometimes. tongue

Just a technical question - is there any possibility that when people sign on through the prohubber site, there is a risk of passwords / access being compromised?

SirDent, how does the (redirecting) domain name stay on the address bar when you travel around the hubpages site?

SirDentposted 15 years agoin reply to this

lol No chance of that happening. If you sign up through the prohubbers site you sign up through Shalini's profile page. lol

Have you ever heard of tinyurl? You can take a very long link and go there and make a short link for the long one. It is a re-direct.

What Admins of Hub Pages say about this. Can everyone make sites like this and copy all hubs posted by writers in their domain. Is this called Auto Pilot System of Making Money.

These are not copies of hubpages site.
They are different "entry doors" to the one and only HubPages site.

A website is just a lot of things that are connected together electronically.
You can connect a domain name to any website in the world.

There could be ten thousand domain names connected to the hubpages site.
It wouldn't matter, and commissions, etc, would still go to the proper people.

      Here's an example.

My hubs are listed on the link: http://hubpages.com/author/Eric+Graudins/latest/

I could register a domain name called EricsHubPages.com and connect it to that link.

So that when someone visits EricsHubPages.com they will see the same thing that they would if they went to
      http://hubpages.com/author/Eric+Graudins/latest/

Now, Hub Pages management could look at this and decide that the name EricsHubPages.com infringed their trademark, and take action against me.

However, since the domain went to their own website, and helped them to make money they probably would not do so.

If I had connected the domain name to a porn site, then Hubpages might take a different view, and would probably take action against me for breaching their trademark.

Hope that helps you to understand how this works.
      Regards, Eric G.

Eric, you explained it pretty well... Basically it's jsut a purchased domain that directs to the hubbers profile... Nothign illegal about that... HubPages may not like the use of hubber in the url, but that's another issue. The hubber will not be making millions with the page, as it is nothing more than the regular ole profile page with HubPages content, codes, etc.

I believe this has been discussed before, where someone was buying expired domains with backlinks and setting his hubs to the domains.
