The reason the domain would be blacklisted is that plenty of others have done what you've tried to do. Wikipedia isn't about getting free and easy traffic.

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a self-promotion site.

Found a problem, created a workaround, good job.

As long as your link is useful you havent done anything wrong - this site is blacklisted because most were just submitting crap for links.

I do hope your hub and wiki entry were written in more careful english then your forum post though!

My thought of pasting link there is not for promotion or to get traffic... According to me I've not done anything wrong in this section.....

My question is: Is it correct to paste a redirecting URL instead of actual URL Because of the blacklisting of hub-pages there.

Well, If you people still think I've done wrong.... I will remove the link from there.... Thanks for the help and feedback.

If you post a link that goes to one of your own articles, then you aren't contributing in the spirit of wikipedia.

Using a redirecting URL is only going to make you look even more devious.

        Thanks darkside for the quote.....
It's not really an good habit to promote ourselves anywhere (especially on public service places), we should leave that work for others.

        Good to see your reply....

If wikipedia allows pasting redirecting URL, that means there is no problem. Yet many blacklisted site users may use this technique for backlinks. I think soon wikipedia may put control on putting redirecting URL to it's site.

Is it true that redirecting url's can be treated as backlinks by search engines or by any other crawler type.

It's no problem... until a human editor checks the link and sees where it is leading.
