On wikipedia,
Yesterday when I try to put the link starting with
http://hubpages.com/ .......... I got a message on wikipedia that this site is blacklisted. I forcely want create a url redirecting script on my host and paste their.
Now my question is did i done anything wrong.
The reason the domain would be blacklisted is that plenty of others have done what you've tried to do. Wikipedia isn't about getting free and easy traffic.
Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a self-promotion site.
I'm not sure I understand what this means.
Found a problem, created a workaround, good job.
As long as your link is useful you havent done anything wrong - this site is blacklisted because most were just submitting crap for links.
I do hope your hub and wiki entry were written in more careful english then your forum post though!
My thought of pasting link there is not for promotion or to get traffic... According to me I've not done anything wrong in this section.....
My question is: Is it correct to paste a redirecting URL instead of actual URL Because of the blacklisting of hub-pages there.
Well, If you people still think I've done wrong.... I will remove the link from there.... Thanks for the help and feedback.
No. More than anything, please do not mess with wikipedia.
If you post a link that goes to one of your own articles, then you aren't contributing in the spirit of wikipedia.
Using a redirecting URL is only going to make you look even more devious.
If wikipedia allows pasting redirecting URL, that means there is no problem. Yet many blacklisted site users may use this technique for backlinks. I think soon wikipedia may put control on putting redirecting URL to it's site.
Is it true that redirecting url's can be treated as backlinks by search engines or by any other crawler type.
It's no problem... until a human editor checks the link and sees where it is leading.

I was listing my hub on one of the pages of wikipedia when it gave the following error:The spam filter blocked your page save because it detected a blacklisted hyperlink. If you did not add the link yourself, it most likely was added by another editor before being blacklisted. You will need to...

Is it a good idea to have a link to a HubPage account included on a Wikipedia page? I understand there was some sort of problem between the sites. Please let me know what the situation is about this.

I used to like to bring the silly moderation messages to light, in order to hopefully get better explanations of the new rules that HP created throughout 2011.Eventually, the lack of definitions by HP just became irritating and I stopped and just left the account to fester. But, for 2012, I was...

About 36 hours ago, I found the Broken Link skull on this hub: http://swisstoons.hubpages.com/hub/general-quizContrary to the message, nothing was highlighted. I searched every link on the page twice and found no broken links. Nevertheless, I removed the only ebay link I'd posted. I...

I asked...
