People who are unintelligent enough to post replies to spam in the forums.  Then admin snips out the spam post and the headless thread is trapped with the replies forever.  Especially when the person is taunting the OP about how they've just been reported.

My biggest pet peeve are people who post in the forums asking for help or whatever in barely legible English, yet their hubs are grammaticaly perfect. I mean how do they do that??

My pet peeve is when I want to use a certain title for a hub and I see that the title has already been taken ... but that the hub itself is completely useless.

Add one more word changing it just a tad... take it!

That is so annoying! You've just spent hours doing keyword research and find the url taken by a bad hub. It's not so bad when its a half decent hub but a bad one is just a waste.

      1. katiem2 profile image59
katiem2posted 13 years agoin reply to this

Yes and all the more reason to play on the keywords adding a long tail title cause your hard work and LSI rich article needs to get to the people and once it hits the waves of the internet will def beat that url... which will be buried in the grave yard of bad hubs....

        LSI baby LSI smile

Every note noted above me....sooo agree with all those!  And then,

you write a hub on a topic that you research thoroughly, including ensuring that it has not been written as a hub already, write it and publish it only to find that there are at least two new hubs published two to five days after you publish yours.  Worse yet, your ideas and context are taken.  This is extremely frustrating....

Don't you just hate people who write lengthy questions that are really a rant or something, could be as long as a hub, really, and who won't shut up!  And people (like me) who write huge long answers to questions in the threads, going on and on and on and every once in awhile saying something kinda good, so you have to keep reading, just to find out if I'm saying anything good at all, but most of it is meaningless babble?  Don't you just hate the Faulkner types whose sentences could fill a page of any normal book, although who has time to read that kind of post, anyway?  Man.  People like me are irritating.

I get comments in hubs asking for advice about what I think the person should do when I have outlined pretty clearly how to handle it in the hub.

Scanning and skimming content seems to also be pretty common, which I understand, but if you're going to leave a question/request in the comments section, it would make sense to find out if the info is in the hub already.

    I don't care to spoon-feed lazy people.

There are definately some very valid peeves listed here.

In regards to the hubs, it is very frustrating to see somebody who posted a purely ranting hub that is like a paragraph long and stuffed full of grammerical errors.  This is not the place to gripe in text code over your boyfriend's indescretion.

That and people who sit in the forums for the sole purpose of trying to reel others into an argument.  I don't mind the interaction aspect of the forums,I personally like the light-hearted games, but it irks me when I see people who insist on pushing other people's hot-buttons and they just won't let it go.  Combine that with people who decide they don't like a particular hubber and set out to vote down and trash everything that hubber puts out.  There are plenty of fish in this sea, just avoid that person. Simple.

I can't stand being flagged for cursing on my hubs. I cuss in my every day life. A LOT! It's a site for 18 and older, why can't I say sh!t? Sometimes calling a person a butt simply isn't strong enough as calling someone an ass. Maybe it's just me. tongue

In my opinion, though, if you don't like reading it, move on.

    Yellow teeth adverts.

Nothing makes a hub you've worked hard on look worse than when HP spams it full of non Google unrelated teeth whitening ads. sad

    1. katiem2 profile image59
katiem2posted 13 years agoin reply to this

I've heard of that before and also heard that if you park your hub unpublished for a day or two before publishing the adds on your hub will be better related to your hub,  I've tried this and it works, plus my hub score goes up to around the 70's which is nice to publish a new hub with a 70's score coming out of the gate.  smile

      1. Mrvoodoo profile image57
Mrvoodooposted 13 years agoin reply to this

^ This works for unrelated Google Adsense ads, but unfortunately the 'yellow teeth' and 'lose belly fat' ads are not delivered through Adsense, but appear in HubPages share of the ad impressions via a different ad network (one that isn't contextual and shows horrible ads).

Edit.  Maybe you Americans don't see them (I see them everywhere at HP), perhaps they're Geo-targeted towards us English (known for bad teeth as we are). wink

One of mine is when someone posts their own links in comments on my Hubs (and especially the ones who go to the trouble of writing some big thing that they think will somehow make their unrelated link remotely be connected with the subject of the Hub).  Heck - it even irks me when someone tries to post their own link to something that DOES relate to my Hub.  I just have a "thing" that it's my Hub, and I'll find whatever links I want on it myself.  Besides, there's just a "who-do-you-think-you're-fooling" kind of element when they do that.
