I have sat down and mapped out my Hubpages objectives today, having failed to keep up with my target which was set on 31st December (That target was 1 hub for each calender day in 2011).

I have managed 150 hubs since then, although that only puts me about 30 off so far. My target for the rest of 2011 is:

    - 30 hubs per month for the final 6 months of the year, a total of 180 new hubs.

    - $1100 monthly AdSense earnings by the end of the year, not including Xmas themed hubs. My earnings are currently around $600.

    - $100 monthly Amazon earnings by the end of the year (this month looks to be my first $50 Amazon month!)

Anybody want to join me in setting themselves goals? They can be whatever they want, they don't have to be monetary and can be anything Hubpages related.

It would be great for some other hubbers to join me so that we can all keep each other updated in our progress, before reflecting on our targets in January... (or perhaps even setting new ones).

So hubbers.... what is YOUR target?

Can you break your earning down to how many dollars you earn per hours work?

    1. profile image0
ryankettposted 13 years agoin reply to this

No, because that is irrelevant. It would also take me hours, and I will not earn any money per hour spent calculating that wink

My earnings are residual, I could only calculate that when I decide to remove all of my hubs or Hubpages as a site closes (which will probably be never).

If you buy a flat and rent it out, it has a 'payback' time. I now earn per month the rental value of my apartment. In otherwords, if I bought my flat outright with no mortgage and rented it out, I would be earning the same from that apartment as I am from my hubs.

Ask yourself how many hours work it would take you to purchase a $130,000 apartment in cash, and that should be all the maths you need.

    $10 daily on adsense

    $30 daily on Amazon

I'll let ebay be for right now.

In pure writing terms on HP I want to

    - Create better organized categories that have 15-20 articles each in them.
    - At least 3 new hubs per week.
    - Write holiday stuff early for a change (I'm doing okay so far!)

I'm actually surprised you don't earn more from Amazon, do you Have many product Hubs? I haven't actually checked any of your stuff in a while now!

My goals on Hubpages for 2011 monthly stats (Not including Christmas) are,

    Daily Visitors - 3500 - 4500
    Adsense - $400
    Amazon - $600
    Kontera - $60
    Ebay - $150

If I can get my earnings up to this point I will be a happy man, and it is not an impossible stretch.

Thisisoli, I have never cracked Amazon. I am getting better with it, and recently went through my biggest traffic hubs to optimise my use of space to incorporate more capsules.

I don't have a great deal of sales pages, although of those that I do have (probably around 30), about 10 will probably never get a sale (Rolex watches for a start)....

I have begun focussing a little more on Amazon, and I should reach $50 this month for the first time.... I see cracking Amazon as my new priority.

Although I do consider myself to be very AdSense orientated, I enjoy the consistency of those earnings. Amazon seems to be a bit more luck orientated.

I am hopeful of a good Xmas though, if I could take $100 in November and $100 in December then I will be happy enough.

Well, those are the monthly figures I want for 2011, at the moment I believe I can reach those goals if I work hard!

I got a bit confused by his wording too, but I took it to mean what we are aiming for on a monthly basis in 2011 tongue

I saw this a few hours ago but I was waiting for Ryan's qualification before posting here. smile

Short term goals for June 30 - reach second payout of $100 (I'm less than $2 away from this amount and the waiting is killing me) and reach 100,000 views (less than 1,000 views to go).

    Goals for 2010:

    1. Reach 200 hubs (which will mean I have to write like every other day till Christmas)

    2. Reach my third Adsense payout by end of this year.

    3. Average daily visitors of 700 to 800.

    4. Reach $2 per day on Adsense (I'm starting low but then again most of my hubs are not really high earners).

Amazon earnings I'll leave that alone.

    Good luck Ryan and Oli.

Ryan thanks you so much for starting this thread.  My goals for the rest of 2010 are as follows:

1.Publish 30 new hubs every month, that is, 180 new hubs.

    2.To earn $10 a day from adsense.

3.$10 a month from Amazon(I am very pathetic at amazon)

4.My fourth goal is a bit unrealistic and optional, but I am planning to publish 100 hubs in the month of October.  I will try my best to achieve it.

I will post my updates on a regular basis.  I wish and pray that everyone achieve their stated goals!!!

Ryan, I think goal setting is a fantastic idea. My goals for Hubpages in 2010 are.

To write at least 15 new Hubs every month, which will bring my total for the year to around 150

To achieve a monthly adsense income of £300 by the end of December

To get at least one Amazon payout of £100

So, we all meet back here in January and see how we have measured up to those goals!!

Have taken up the Misha Challenge (forum post originated by Nelle Hoxley) that challenge is to gain one hub earning US$100 in one day, but there is no set time period to achive it, so it will go WELL into next year. Having said that...

    This will be done and be helped by achieving;

    200 Hubs by Dec 31st
Have setup a blog to follow the challenge, so my blogging experience will need to improve (which I have plans for, lots and lots of research)
3,000 articles on article directories. (already have a few hundred, so I end up writing about 15-20 a day anyway)
    Adsense payout by Sep
    Amazon payout by Oct
Publish 100 hubs (will be almost sole concentration on) in Nov

2011, will be, less coffee, more time with family and friends, more sleep, less donuts, less articles, hubs and other net activities, more sleep, less worrying about earning an income online, more sleep.....oh did I mention about more sleep yet?

Good luck everyone, and please, don't get frustrated if you do not reach all of your goals. At least you are making the way for your future plans, cheers.

    By Dec 2011
    -----------

10 million page views on my own hubs
40 million in referral page views
    500 hubs
1200 in adsense every month(from my own hubs alone)
    1000 ebay every month
    300 amazon every month
close kontera even from my referral views(I dont know how)

    Best Regards

SunSeven, to close Kontera, you have to go through Kontera I think. When I went to my HubPages affiliate settings and shut off Kontera ads, Kontera  complained that I didn't give them warning bc at the time in their TOS, you had to give them warning. They have weird rules that change constantly.

    My goals for 2010:

    Hubs-
    1) Complete all hubs that I have unpublished, as well as my entire notebook full of ideas (which is a growing list)
    2) Total my hub count between my two different accounts to 1500 (this is unlikely to occur within 6 months remaining in the year)

    Adsense-
    1) $1500+ monthly

    Amazon-
    1) $300+ monthly

    Ebay-
    1) $200+ monthly

Everyone has some great goals and very good to see some different ones to aim for....

My goals are to obtain a day rate for adsense, if I can get up to £30 a day (and that is english £'s) with adsense on Hubpages then I'll be happy, of course that would be a fluctation in terms of actual clicks and seperating the earnings from other sites is key.

My Amazon earnings do need a boost from my Hubpages too and I'll be happy with at least $800 from Hubpages alone and not directly influenced from my other blogs and sites.

Ebay could be better too as it took a drop at first when it added the Quality click pricing, but it has picked up during seasonal times with the odd £7.99 click/sale every other day.

Like Whitney I want to publish all of my unpublished hubs and pour through my notebooks and stuff and just write more hubpages, but I do realise I have to start to organize my hubpage content more as it is getting slightly busy, I just finished putting all my orphan hubs into their own groups from years ago and changed some titles and added some updates to some hubpages too.

My goals are somewhat more modest than everyone elses:

Having been here a year now I'm disappointed to say I haven't even reached my first payout on Google yet.

My first goal is to reach payout (only a third of the way there) and my second goal is to earn something every day from Hubpages. I suppose my third goal is to reach payout on Amazon over xmas (which would involve me writing some more Xmas gift-orientated hubs). All of these goals should be reached when I learn to backlink properly!

On a side note, since I didn't want to start a whole thread for this: How many orders per click would any of you say you get on Amazon. I've had 20 clicks but no sales and it's really infuriating!!

    1. waynet profile image69
waynetposted 13 years agoin reply to this

On Amazon I get over 20,000 clicks and out of say 100 clicks I may get 10 - 12 orders or even less sometimes, but I do have a good few backlink campaigns running through my Hubpages and blogs combined that make up the numbers and Hubpages is only a small fraction of that!

I had set a goal early in the year to do a total of 500 new hubs this year which would bring me to about 650 hubs total. I have been somewhat distracted and have not done enough each month but have continued writing hubs.

I have been setting monthly goals for money on the various affiliate sites, and although I have not always made them, I have always gained each month.

My goals for July are to:
    1.  Get my Ebay to $300
    2.  Get my Adsense to $300
    3.  Get my Amazon to 7%.

  22. liljen23 profile image76
    liljen23posted 13 years ago

My goals are for the rest of the year are:

400-700 visitors on my hubs per day
    500-1000 to my writing blog
    Write 164 hubs- I have 36 now
Make $350 per month on Google Adsense
    $150 per month on Amazon
    $500 from other affiliate sites
    equals
    $1,000 of passive income

It will be hard but I know I can do it. I am currently learning about keywords, so I want to increase my hub posts and get a high rank for my blog and write better quality hubs. I have at least 30 titles for my blog posts now and at least 100 hub titles for my hubs.

Do you think how many Hubs needed to earn about $100 a day? Please reply.

  24. Whitney05 profile image81
    Whitney05posted 13 years ago

I try to keep my notebook organized via categories. Makes things easier, especially when I got to interlink them. I forget about my orphan hubs all the time. I had to move about 15 of them today into groups.

It's not necessarily how many, but the topics, keywords and phrases, and how the hubs are bookmarked. There are some hubbers who make $100 a day on one hub, whereas most have to have many to do that. With my hub count, I only make $40-$60 a day. It's all in bookmarking and selecting keywords and phrases. I don't bookmark, and seldom pick topics based on research. I write whatever I want to and hope something clicks for earnings. Do more research and you won't have to write as much for the same dollar.
