This is common among provinces where mango trees abound where beetles usually thrive. It’s crunchy like its grasshopper counterpart.

I tried chocolate covered ants once, tasted fine. I don’t think the problem lies in the food itself, it’s the way affluent societies have evolved to think about food. We have lost much of the hunter gatherer instinct so rather than thinking about where our next meal is going to come from we think about how we are going to tantalize our taste buds instead.

True. Societies have grown away from eating insects but least they are promoted through Survival training. hmm smile not sure I want to eat any sort of insects at this time, thank you for the offer? smile

I've heard much about the fried insects eaten by many in some secs. I guess if I were starving I might eat some but for now I'll pass on that dinner plate. smile  Have you ever eaten any frog legs?  Some folks say they love them smile

Fried clams - OK if a little rubbery.  Raw oysters on the half shell, now, really was just a giant ball of snot.  All I could do to swallow even one and it definitely won't happen again.  NEVER!!!!!

I have eaten Frogs legs (taste like salty chicken) eel, shark, and rattle snake. Never any insects that I was aware of.

Insect is a rich source of protein.  If I have no other choice, then I'll take those fried beetles and I'd imagine eating a prawn big_smile
