Unbelievable.
Ask yourself this. The Federal Government allows BP to remove a cap that while leaking is still partially working. Then they remove the cap so the oil is spilling 100%. Now just before BP is about to put the new cap into place the Government stops them because of new potential concerns.
Hello? Hello Odumbo is anybody home?
WTF are they thinking? Maybe they could have thought of this BEFORE removing the old cap? Is anyone in charge of this mess?
And now BP has halted drilling on the relief wells?
WTF WTF WTF WTF?
Looks like the only way this is going to be solved is when the Oil Reserves run dry and stop leaking on there own.
Any Odumbo supporters here that want to explain the leadership behind this one?
George W may be an idiot... but he would have figured out how to call his Arabian Oil buddies in on this and get it stopped by now.
What is really going on here?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
NEW ORLEANS – BP's work on capping the Gulf of Mexico gusher was frozen Wednesday after the federal government raised concerns the operation could put damaging pressure on the busted well that could make the leak worse. (Or it could actually stop the leak)
An administration official, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the talks with BP, said the government was acting out of "abundance of caution" and didn't want potentially dangerous pressure tests on a tighter containment cap that has been placed over the well to go ahead until BP answers questions about possible risks.
At the same time, BP on its own halted the drilling of two relief wells that are designed to be a more permanent solution to plug the well.

Nice to see you're not learning from your own action. Just lovely.
Do you even have a job or are you just my own personal troll?
Perhaps instead of following me around bad mouthing everything I write you could turn the computer off, get up, go outside and at least try and get a life?
Clearly you must be unemployed.
You are a sad little person.
I care about America, clearly you are on the "other" side... wanting it to collapse.
23,000 posts while never contributing anything of value... just bad mouthing people who do. You might want to consider getting professional help.
Name calling. Nice. Troll?
Perhaps you need a better understanding of life, before you try to tell someone else to get one.
It's obvious you do not understand HubPages either, never mind, much else.
If I actually had an ego problem, then I would consider your words as an insult, by calling me a "sad little person". However, I'll leave that judgment to others.
Clearly, you have NO understanding what it takes to maintain a Nation, much less anything else outside your pathetic view.
Ignorance is wonderfully bliss and apparently you find no value in anyone who disagrees with you, so why exactly do you post? Never mind, you'll think up something you can justify your position, which would be meaningless, considering you cannot understand the FULL scope of life.
And, you claim I need to get a life? Man, that's absurd.
It is silly. The government is now concerned about the cap. Who would know more about the cap, the government or BP? Plug the damn hole already.
Mike - We can always count on you to deliver partial information with an anti-Obama spin.
"The new, temporary well cap had been seen as the best hope since April of stopping the geyser. Work on a permanent fix, relief wells that will plug the spill from below with mud and cement, also was halted.
Oil continued to spew nearly unimpeded into the water.
BP had zipped through weekend preparations for getting the 75-ton cap in place and undersea robots locked it smoothly into place Monday atop the well, raising hopes the gusher could be checked for the first time since the Deepwater Horizon rig leased by BP exploded April 20, killing 11 workers."
BP built a massive cap that we all hope will shut off the flow of oil completely. To put the new cap on, they had to take the old cap off, resulting in a free flow of oil. This falls in the category of 'You can't make an omlette without breaking eggs.'
As they are testing the new cap - there will be a buildup of pressure. If it works, it will be a LOT of pressure. I'm not an engineer, but I did study thermodynamics - since the first relief well is only feet from completion - if you drill through then all that pressure is going to be applied to the relief well - assuming the new cap is working. So maybe the engineers are doing the right thing and not turning the new driling rig into a new 'deepwater horizon' rig on fire.
No one knows what the condition of the casing is -that's what they are watching as they close the valves. If the casing is fractured, they will want to rethink the strategy - but if the casing is intact, they may be able to shut off the flow entirely.
The spill is a disaster, but the actions they are taking on the scene are prudent as near as I can tell. Your spin is biased and mean-spirited - and predictable and normal for you.
Here's an interesting article showing exactly how government is 100% responsible for this entire BP oil-spill mess.
http://mises.org/daily/4488
It doesn't blame Obama exclusively (it actually blames bush and clinton for the most part -- Both parties catch the heat). It shows that incentives were put in place to give MORE money for the HARDER the location was to drill!!!
YOUR tax dollars CREATED this mess, and now they're being spent on cleaning it up!!! BRILLIANT!! -- all the while, people can claim that it's "creating jobs"!!!

Is anyone else seriously worried about the BP oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico?I've been staying on top of all the news reports and findings as well as researching the effects of previous oil spills and it seem the more I learn the more unsettling this whole situation becomes.

Obama's attacks on BP are increasingly being viewed in the UK as signs of his anti-British stance. Or is he just trying to pull attention away from his own administration's failures?http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article … itain.html
