Does Coffee Keep you Awake if you Drink it in the Evening?

   When I was younger it didn't seem to matter when I drank coffee. I could happily enjoy a cup after the evening meal. Now it seems any caffiene after three o'clock in the afternoon and I'm wide eyed and bushy tailed well after midnight.

      I avoid taking coffee or tea after food. Mostly hot milk.

   Coffee, tea and hot chocolate, the leading in caffeine and sugar, does nothing to my already high metabolism.
   
   So, I never feel the affect/effects of either of them. There are days where I will drink at least 5 - 24oz. cups of coffee and be no worse for wear either way.

      same here, though I would prefer to let the caffeine hits me between the eyes before I go to sleep. I wouldn't let a good cup go to waste.

      I have a relationship with coffee, it kisses me in the early morning and again just before bed. I sleep like a lamb

   I'm another one like others here...    Coffee all day and all night.  If I can't sleep I'll get up and get a couple of cups of coffee to help me sleep.     Honest.   What WILL keep me wide awake is tea.

   Not at all.  I have one travel cup in the morning and usually another travel cup while I'm making dinner.  If I'm lucky, I'll have another one after the kids go to sleep.

   Honestly, I think coffee is more like the placebo effect. When I have to get up about 530-600am, accordingly, I feel like drinking coffee helps me relax and be able to focus on what needs to be done. Once all of my tasks are done and it starts leaning towards the time of day to pick up the kids from school and look at what I've done all day, drinking coffee does no good what so ever to keep me awake!

    For me, it depends on my level of activity.  When I was commuting to a full-time job, married, doing all the housework and cooking, there was no way a cup of coffee in the evening would keep me awake.  I couldn't even get coffee to keep me awake while driving on long trips.
    
    Now, I dare not drink coffee or tea in the evening.  Rooibos tea is fine as an evening drink!

    Coffee has an interest effect on me. It keeps me awake when I want to keep awake and it would even help me sleep when I cant sleep
