I am the only one responsible for where I am. The direction of my life, the messes that I make and the accolades that I get are my own doing. Yes. I am responsible for where I am today.

Somehow today most of us are bitten by the buck never stops here bug and we always have people or circumstances to blame about!!

Ever heard of the saying you only reap what you sow?

Thats true of our lives too. I here want to deal with the self than with things outside.

Most people say things like I am not good enough, I can't do it, I am weak, I cant manage this etc.. most of the time or atleast think so of themselves each time they are faced with tough tasks.

We are often the victims of our own thinking/scripts.  Scripts are ingrained decision in our innercore and these are often arrived at in nervreracking or extremly stressful situations, when our emotional balance is rocked about.

For example  a person decides 'I am never going to trust anyone in my life everagain'  (That is how scripts sounds.)

This seedscript once sown, grows into a person who is lonesome, with few or no friends, unable to work well in teams, unable to commit to another person in life and a sure fire recipe for a disasterous marriage ( if one ever happens)

Once these scripts are ingrained into the innercore / psyche no matter how much ones strives at a particular task they are already doomed for lacklustre results.

All is not lost .. we can still be in control over the direction of their lives. It is just a decision away...

Today decide to take responsibility for the way you talk.

Change the mental picture of yourself froma a can't do anything person to can do somethings well person.

    How do you do it...

Try to spot any scripts you may have ingrained in you(If you cant this will still work..)

Delete the negatives of yourself in your vocabulary and replace them your positive ones. The positive vocabulary comes from what are you good at. I am sure all of us are good at something or the other.

Affirm yourself with statements such as "I am a wonderful communicator, people approach me whenever the need to get through to someone".

Repeat such (realistic) statements  of your self frequently. Repetition makes this script ingrained in your psyche.

Statements have to be in the present tense not in the future..
like 'I am a good writer', not I will be one.

Persistance and a never-give-up attitude will see you bloom and go places.

Reinforce these statements with positive emotions gained out of every success. Just take the liberty to feel good about yourself.

Most importantly believe in what you say. Believe in yourself.

Remember that YOU ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON TO YOURSELF

You're right.  It was put very succinctly by a poet whose name eludes me: "I am the master of my ship, the captain of my soul."

A wise friend once told me many years ago, "We spend our lives trying to change the world, and all we end up changing is ourselves."   If we can change to the extent that we both believe and understand a lot of the stuff you've told us above, we'll have reached such understanding a lot earlier, thus making the living of our lives (in our emotional responses, anyway) at lost easier.

Quite right.  You do control your own destiny.  You absolutely must take resposibility for your own actions.

You first need to eliminate the word "can't" from your vocabulary (or script as you say).  Stop talking to yourself in a negative way.

It's amazing what the power of positive thinking can have on your outlook, and the possiblities it presents.

The other thing you need to do is stop listening to other negative thinkers.  Are they successful?  Of course not.  They're constantly dragging themselves down, blaming other things or people...stopping themselves from taking actions that could improve their situation.

Stop worrying people sad  Just get on with it. smile

Integrity gives purpose through honesty. A purpose to be actively conscious about being honest, both with self and others.

As long as you are honest with self, then you are more than likely to be honest with others. Your honesty with others will be noticed as integrity.

The biggest problem most people have is that little piece of knowledge, which sets off the chain reaction in a positive or good direction.

That piece of knowledge is that one should be always "self-interest". That means, always striving to improve upon self.

Accept the fact you are human and not some controlled machine or being commanded by some god, and make an honest effort to be honest. Thus, you live a life of Integrity which leads to only good things.

That's my take on it. smile
