   Well, people used to be laughed at when they suggested the world is round rather than flat. If there's something out there, and they are a physical threat to us, then we won't be able to defend ourselves with ignorance. Just a thought Santa, or should I say Scott?

   I tend to see all points of view expressed here have got merit, but have a tendency to a) think the most logical and studied path should be taken--as an intelligent species, we can't just do nothing, unless that is the path that is judged most right, and b) the above has gotta weigh in there somewhere, always!

   I mean compassion (which is the basis of all morality) has got to weigh in at all times when dealing with people.  Depending on what that means with certain subjects, of course!
