I am really annoyed. I really dont understand whats the point in those hubs. Or are they really allowed in here? The pics are posted mostly by someone from India and I dont know what sort of value is added on hubpages by those kind of hubs.

I mean arent there lots of photosharing websites for all this stuff?

    Please enlighten me yikes

    Thanks!

This conversation was had a million times in the early years of hubpages.  The bottom line is, if it's not porn, and doesn't violate TOS, there is no reason to censor those hubs out.

Yes, they don't have writing in them.  So what.  My hubs don't have anything to sell in them.  The alternative to allowing anything that doesn't violate the rules is to dissalow anything that isn't written into a pre-fab commercial template.

Doing so dissuades a sense of community, forbids people to be creative, and fosters a sense of tyranny.  Yes, the freedom to be creative will also mean the freedom to write stuff many don't like.  So what?  As Cagsil so nicely pointed out, just don't visit those.

Personally, I think hubhopping is the worst way to find anything worth reading on HP. It's like a guided tour through the absolute worst parts of town. "Look, here's the sewage treatment plant.  See how it runs out into the creek there.  Oh, and look, that's the dump where our homeless scrounge for food."  (sigh)  I suggest you hit the topic lists, or the hot/latest/best list or just find someone whose comments you like in a forum and go read their stuff.

      Hope this helps.

If you are not interested in those hubs, then do not visit them.

Why you are concerned with what others do? hmm

You are here for yourself, just like others are here for themselves. If you do not like something you see or it violates the TOS agreement for Adsense or HubPages, then be a responsible hubber and flag it for review.

Otherwise, what difference does it make to you? It doesn't affect you personally, and it does not effect your hubs, or those who read your hubs.

    Just a thought. smile

I obviously dont read those hubs, infact there is nothing to read in those hubs, its just jampacked with lots of pictures. I am not against a picture hub but idk i feel that those hubs dont belong to hub pages and seem like spam.

I generally come across this kind of hubs while "Hub Hopping"

I just intend to ask the hubpages mods, if this kind of hubs are acceptable and if they are acceptable then I'll just stop flagging and just ignore those hubs.

And that was my point. If you see something that is against TOS for Adsense or HubPages, then flag them.

If you have a picture hub that has NO text on it, flag it and bring it to the attention of Staff.

        That's all I was saying.

Opening a forum thread about it, has been done hundreds of times. Showing that you don't like them is not necessary, it just creates negativity, in the forums, which already has too much negative things going on.

I understand your plight in the situation. Flag for review and move on. smile

Try to have a great day! smile

Sexy pictures are allowed. Pornographic pictures and prostitution solicitations are not. HP decides which is which.

I don't want to read about guns, for instance, so I don't go to those hubs and if I find one in Feed or Hubhopping - I ignore it.  Read what you want to! Live and let live, honey, you'll be happier>    just a thought

Thanks everyone for your input on the matter, I'll just continue to ignore those hubs and I wasnt aware that this topic has been discussed earlier, since joined hubpages 5 days ago.

I apologize if opening a forum topic is something ppl dont appreciate, I was just confused on to-or not to flag so just asked straight away.

    Thanks again!

      Welcome to Kickarse Junction!

You as a Newbie Must Stand Your Ground! hmm
Don't Run Away Upset or Via an Apology sad
Stand your Ground... And you will read the personalities here!
      Which also means:
Flag those such hubs if you feel that they are rubbish or are outside of the terms.. then people like me know that others don't wish to be tarred with the same brush either.
Stand your ground... everyone in this thread is giving you good advice.. but it may not appear that way atm. smile
HP are currently upgrading the topic section and perhaps it might be an appropriate time to make a direct suggestion on this subject. hmm

Did I suggest you stand your ground and stick up for yourself? big_smile

HubPages has deleted a lot of them.  Flag the ones that have visible watermarks, I'm not sure if those get dashed for being obviously stolen or considered as spam (for promoting other sites) but I do know those really are getting cracked down on.

It is also in your power to give such Hubs a thumbs down vote.  Admin once reported that the Indian photo Hubs get more thumbs down than any other topic on the site.

the only thing that annoys me about photo hubs is that they are blatantly stolen photographs.

There are plenty of photo style hubs that use great shots taken by the hub writer which are def worth a view.. the concept of photo hub doesnt bother me - but the obvious theft that most of these entail does

And on a related note - if too many rubbish photo hubs (and by rubbish I mean not the good ones Cagsil smile ) are getting you down, then take some time to read the stuff that's been through a spinner. It raises two smiles every time - one as I read the jumbled up English, and again when I flag it.

I have two bollywood actress Hubs, each one earns me just over a dollar a month.

A dollar is a dollar however you look at it!

I have often been tempted to put up a hundred more to see if that would actually work income wise, never got around to it though.

I think the difference between my Bollywood hubs and those by others is mine tend to include quite a lot of text.  I still get the feeling they are flagged often though when someone sees an indian actress in the picture.

HP PAYS people to enforce the TOS.  I have heard a lot of things that might make me question the enforcement of the rules by those paid to do so here I would wager that people who have obviously NOT read all the rules flagging hubs is a MUCH bigger problem!
Flagging hubs because YOU personally do NOT like them is--in theory anyway--a waste of time if they do not violate any rules.
(Please don't ask me to explain why I used the phrase "in theory", okay?)
My point is the rules are SUPPOSED to be enforced based on objective, specific guidlines NOT personal taste.

First pictures are also kind of content. Millions of peoples searching new and beautiful pictures every day. And many of these hubs have those content which peoples are looking for.

These hubs don't make lot of money. But get lot of traffic from search engines. Still they don't dominate over search engines. Large number of wallpaper site out der to compete.

A few months ago I found a hub-from India-instructing men on how to tell if a young bride is indeed a virgin.  I mean YOUNG.  It literally made me sick and I flagged it-an action I rarely engage in.
Somehow the photo ones seem to be comparatively a walk in the park.

I am fascinated when entire series disappear simply because they may have been inspired by someone who was banned.  That cracks me up from the point of view that someone is so scared of something.  It makes me feel bad for the innocent author.
Would everyone want me flagged and banned if I wrote a series titled Mein Kamph?
In fact, now that i think of it, what ever happened to the latest "stupid questions" series?  The series is gone and so is the person who used the name.  He had fanned me too so now I have one last fan!

Poetic License - not sure what you mean about flagging because someone doesn't like something. I don't know any hubbers that do that. If I don't like something I vote it down. If something is worth a flag I flag it. The options for flagging include 'low quality' so when I see a hub that has clearly been through a spinner, and the results is a messy 500 words of utter gibberish, it gets flagged. Most of the hubs I flagged yesterday had no words, or pictures, just a list of links - looked like poor quality to me. And if we want to keep HP as a respected site we can allmake money out of, we have to keep it clean of this rubbish.

I stand by what I said.  I'm not talking about voting something down.  That's for opinions . . . and like @ssholes everyone has one.
However, HP PAYS people to flag hubs.  Anyone who flags hubs and is not trained and paid to do it is doing someone else's job FOR FREE.  If making money is a concern of yours then stop doing someone else's job for FREE--apply to work for HP.
(Mind you, in the case of YOUR particular example I would have probably agreed BUT again it's not my job and I don't get paid to do it so I don't.
By the way, if you are here to make real money then you will be disappointed; trust me.  I know things.

Photo Hubs are a part of Hubpages. When posted correctly they are content to HP just as written hubs. I usually just stay away from them, but there are visitors to the site just for those photos.

The only part of photos of the sexy girls or guys I usually report...are the ones that are posted in the "wrong" category!!! When that happens, just flag it and explain the reason in the comment box. If the photos meet TOS, then HP will move the hub to the appropriate category or notify the author to move it to the correct category.
