Does BP even give a flip about the environment?

   Todays news out of Texas City, Texas...BP released hazardous chemicals into the air through the whole month of April of this year.
   
   They (BP) have had problems in Texas City before...

      They care about Profits!.  like one poster asked...what does BP stand for...Big Profits! lol.  And judging them... I think all the reports of how they short-cutted around regulations is all the proof needed to Judge them. And BP is not the only one I would bet on.

      Judge them...hell yes...judge them! Not sure how that helps since they have several judgements against them here in Texas long before they screwed up the Gulf. Guess they are going to get another slap on the wrist for this one...At least as long as they don't manage to bring the end of the planet around any sooner...with another stunt. Or maybe we should wait till the next stunt...Or the next.
      
      No we don't want to hurt their feelings...they have yacht races to attend!
      
      Kimberly...dearheart...British Petroleum? Not that I don't understand. Our BP (Blondepoet) has a more positive public image!

   British Petroleum the oil company that was allowed to drill in the Gulf of Mexico without an adequate disaster plan and which for 90 days pumped over 50,000 barrels of oil and dispersant chemicals into the fertile and prolific gulf waters.
   
   They care only so much as it adds to their bottom line.

      'British Petroleum' ceased to exist in 1999, as a result of the merger between 'British Petroleum' and Amoco. The company became 'BP Amoco'. It was subsequently renamed 'Beyond Petroleum' or 'BP Plc' in 2001.
      
      The Deepwater Horizon was leased to BP Plc in 2001, from Transocean. Please stop referring to the involvement of a defunct business in an attempt to place extra emphasise on the 'Britishness' of this very 'Anglo-American' company.

   I'm sure individuals who work for them care, but as a corporate entity... actions speak.
   
   I read this last night about how they photoshop some of their videos, etc. and even admitted to it. you've probably already seen this.. makes you wonder.

   this is always nice to know.
   the alarm switch had been inhibited for a year before explosion so that false alarms wouldn't wake up the crew at 3 a.m.

   I think they care nothing for the environment and care only about profits, it would not surprise me in the slightest that they have had previouse, but unfortunatly....money talks!
