Happy Holidays To All The Hubbers
If you allow me I´ll leave you a story:
A philosophy teacher picked up a large empty bottle and began to fill it with golf balls. Then he asked the students if the jar was already full. All were in agreement and said 'yes'.
The professor then picked up a box of matches and spilled them into the bottle. The matches filled the empty spaces between the golf balls. The teacher asked the students again if the jar was full, and they returned the same answer - 'yes'.
Then the teacher picked up a bag of sand and spilled into the bottle. Of course the sand filled all the empty spaces and the teacher asked again if the jar was full. Students answered him with a resounding 'yes'.
The teacher then spilled two cups of coffee in the bottle, and it filled all the gaps between the sand.
The students laughed about it. When the laughter stopped, the professor commented:
"I want you to understand that this bottle is life. The golf balls are the important things, family, children, health, happiness, friends, the things you love. These are things that even if we lose everything else, our lives would still be full. The matches are other important things such as work, home, car, etc.. The sand is everything else, small things. If you put the sand in the bottle first, there will be no room for the matches, nor for the golf balls. The same happens with life. If we spend all our time and energy on the small things, we will never have room for the things that really are important. Pay attention to the things that really matter. Set your priorities, and the rest is just sand."
One of the students then raised his hand and asked:
"And what about the coffee? What is the coffee?"
The teacher smiled and said:
"Glad you asked! This is just to show you that no matter how busy your life may seem, there is always room for a cup of coffee with a friend."
