   scientist have predicted wat the world is going to experience some 4 yrs time and America is doing nothing abt it. i hope the BP OIL SPILL will teach them one or two lessons

   I think lessons need to be learned when it comes to that oil spill but you are being hard on the Americans. It was BP that cut corners on safety and on protocol. the original problem could have easily been fixed. All they needed to do was close down the operation for a day and get to it. If they had done so there wouldn't have been an oil spill. So blame BP for not taking the proper measures to prevent a disaster and blame the American government if you really want to for being too trusting where BP is concerned.
   
   As for global warming, most Western countries don't know how to get their act together. It is complicated by over two hundred years of using oil and coal for fuel. Alternative power sources have been around for a long time but only now is real investment being made into them to where their use as alternatives will become viable some day.

   As usual I think the problem of Global warming is greatly understated and of course the American Government is not taking it seriously at all.  How could it, since the majority of the population of the country take their present life style for granted and are unlikely to change it any time soon.    The American economy and lifestyle is driven by American business and no American Government is going to bite the hand that feeds it.  Nor would the people stand for the dramatic changes that are necessary to correct the problem.
   
   Rod mentions our dependence on fossil fuels over the past two hundred years but that is only part of the problem.  In the same time period the population of the world has risen from one to nearly seven billion people and is still growing.  Now add in human greed, selfishness, arrogance and stupidity and you might start to get a slight inkling of the problems that face us.
   
   Global warming is a symptom not the disease itself, mans arrogant stupidity and belief in his superiority over all things, that’s the true disease.
   
   Sorry but talking about alternative energy sources is not going to anything to solve those problems,  nor will you ever talk enough people into paying more to use them.  Ask them to give up their present lifestyle, their car or cars, world travel, Etc. Then duck or run before you get their answer....
   
   There’s your real problem.

   Merlin makes a good point about global population I want to emphasize. In the last century, human population has gone from just over 2 Billion to well over 6 Billion. Who thinks the planet can go to 20 Billion in the next century?
   
   You woould have to think that the growth op population has had a corresponding increase in pollutants resulting in climate change.

   Having the factory down the road buying trees in Brazil to make up for the toxic gases leaving their factory and entering the area in the local community is BS.
   
   How does that in any way help the people living near these polluters.
   
   Carbon credits are a ruse, a way for people to get rich.  It in no way lowers the pollution emitted.

         I do not believe global warming is a product of humanity.
         
         I do believe that pollution kills and needs to be restricted.  I guess IMO I would put more emphasis on creating engineers and scientists in the US.
         
         Instead of lawyers and financial manipulators.
         
         The American entrepreneurial spirit put to work with the available financing can accomplish anything.
         
         Including cleaning up the emissions pouring out of factories globally as well as in the US.
         
         All carbon credits do is tell the companies buy 1000's of acres of forest in Brazil and pollute all you want.  It is a little sick and twisted mentality IMO.

   America is not taking global warming seriously.... because they are the main reason for polluting the globe. If they take it seriously, then everything in America will go to freezing point.
   But several low-lying countries will be saved.

         China's population is 1.40 billion and India's is 1.10 billion.  Cats should not draw stripes just to look like tigers. US population is just 25 % of India's and 17% of China's population.  You cant compete with us.

   The Entire Global Warming FRAUD has nothing to do with the Environment.  This is all about money and setting up "Carbon Exchanges".
   
   There are plenty of real world pollutants... and C02 is not one of them.
   
   If Team Gore was so concerned about the Environment they wouldn't be setting up Carbon Exchanges and they wouldn't be Targeting C02... they would be going after REAL POLLUTION.  Mercury for example.
   
   C02 is the scape goat and they know this and are demonizing it as it's the easiest point of entry into their scam.
   
   Go ahead and drink the Kool-aid.
   
   The Whole Global Warming Fraud is nothing more than a Scheme to make money.
   
   Well I'm off to the Bahamas... just me and my personal Jet... good thing I bought those Carbon Exchanges to offset the Bazillion Tons of C02 I'm going to create.  I can rest better now.

    This might be interesting for some. American Robins take up residence in the arctic. I would say it signifies earth changes. The robins don't know about BP yet.
