Hi Brenda - always fighting on here, but we have ringside seats.

I am listening to Bathory - one of the finest Viking metal bands of all time.

MK - I love Pink Floyd! Must admit, I preferred the earlier stuff, but it is all good.

I read with understanding lots of books beyond Christian books. 100% of articles or books that claim there's no God are 100% misleading. My Spirit is higher and superior to such beautiful lies.

Mark the reason why I raised questions about Creation is because I think it is one of the things which you should investigate  so as to know about the Creater (GOD).i don't believe any kind of big or giant bang can create such a perfect nature. we are a result of an accurately executed plan.

    1. Mark Knowles profile image58

I know what you think. It is not possible to "investigate" some thing for which there is no evidence.

So, I assume you joined here just to ask me this question. In which case - why?

Big Bang was a great work. Have you people heard about Stephen Hawkings and his best seller books??? This scientist also does not deny the ultimate power which is behind this big bang, big crunch, universe and time etc and has maintained a perfect equilibrium between them. This ultimate power is now being researched by modern day scientists under the theory of GOD PARTICLE cool

The difference between an atheist and a religionist is that the former wants to prove the existance of God with a huge amount of money being spent on science projects and the later has already started believing the same thing on zero cost. smile

2,000 years later and still we talk about Jesus Christ!
    (Past ,Present,Future)

Is their any other man in history that has generated so much history, curiosty, investigation, interest and hope.
I say hope because no matter how clever we are as humans,it is clear that we pretty much screw up along the way ,even when we discover or invent good things ,inevitably such is our nature someone can and will use it for the bad.

Why is Faith a negative thing?
What is wrong with having hope?
    God ,born as man.

I accept that many people dont feel the same way as I do, people on here ,and people I see and talk to everyday, yet somedays I just wonder why with the media reporting death, destruction and economic gloom and doom ,pain and human misery from every corner of the globe ,why wouldnt you look more closely at this man Jesus Christ?
Could it be silly human pride? or a fear of believing something too good to be true?

Something else that puzzles me a little too.
If Jesus means nothing and death to you is just 'being dead'
    What are you living for?

I found him when I was four. I've never looked back since then. When I was four, I was abandoned and he was my only source of love and acceptance. Life has its ups and down and I've shared them all with him. I never thought I could get closer to him. It happened just recently. I started chemo for breast cancer. The chemo treatment brought me to my knees. It has his hand on my shoulder that kept me moving forward in loving my experience.

I knew from experience if I allowed fear or anger to move into my heart. I would be moving myself away from him. It took me mentally picturing myself just holding me. I kept telling me to love my experience so I wouldn't move myself away from him. It worked and I'm deeply grateful for the experience.

So - if you don't mind answering, because I do actually find this interesting.

I have seen usmanali using much the same argument as you - that he just knows his is the real god because his eyes are open and he is open minded enough to be able to grasp and understand this. Mohit here disagrees with both of you and tells me they are both the same god -  because he is enlightened enough to understand what most mortals cannot.

You can't all be right - yet you are all using the same argument.

              How do you reconcile that?

  16. Bard of Ely profile image79
Bard of Elyposted 14 years ago

Based on my research and experience I am not at all sure he existed and if he did he was not as portrayed in the Bible stories or indeed, elsewhere!

In my personal experience many years ago in an evangelist City Temple in Cardiff, at a very low point in my life, and when I was being told that Jesus was there that night and would enter anyone in the congregation who desired this, and that Jesus would take away your sorrow and never leave you, and that if you wanted this to raise your hand, I did so and nothing happened apart from I discovered what a complete con the preacher and the whole thing was. As soon as I had raised my arm the preacher called out that one brother out there (me) has been saved and had accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into his life. As soon as he said this others raised their hands. So my action had set off the other people following. Jesus was not in the building and the whole thing was an exercise in mind control.

At another point in life I spent a year studying with Jehovah's Witnesses who told me that to stop smoking I needed to sincerely pray to Jehovah God through his son Jesus Christ. I did so and nothing happened. I quit chain smoking many years later myself when I was in Scientology. So Scientology worked for me and Jesus and Jehovah didn't!

So in my experience Jesus was not there, or if he was he ignored me and when I prayed to him he ignored my prayers! So I conclude that for me he isn't real!

Faith was only required of you to connect to God not your priest/pastor, church building, and religion. Faith is now and works. The Scriptures proved 100% That Jesus Christ existed. No books elsewhere has the truth about Jesus.

      1. Bard of Ely profile image79
Bard of Elyposted 14 years agoin reply to this

It doesn't work for me and that was the point I was making: I had faith in both instances quoted but there was no result, no divine intervention, no nothing, just me back to square one. But I'm not complaining because these experiences and others with other pathways I got involved in taught me that I don't need any organised religions or non-existent deities! The scriptures prove very little - only that somebody at some time wrote them and the details of who and when and why have been argued about ever since!

Andrew0208posted 14 years agoin reply to this

If it didn't work then it isn't faith. Faith is neither hope. Faith always work.
Find out how to make your faith work in Hebrews 11:1-11, Mark 11:
22-24, John 14:12-14. Faith is not religious. Faith is a Spirit walk. Let the Holy Spirit guide you if you'll.

    My Lord and My God.

Jesus Christ is the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Him shall never go hungry, never go thirsty and never go without.

Jesus Christ is He who offers hope to all: cures to the sick, hope to the despondent, love to those who despair.

Jesus Christ is our Saviour, Our Lord and the One who shall lead us onwards and upwards, forever and ever, amen.

I Corinthians, Chapter 13, Verse 13: (Approximate) Three remain: faith, hope and love - but the greatest of these is love.

He can only become a man(bearing the nature of man) to fulfill His divine assignments. He was not sent to earth (the dwelling place of man) to live for ages and function
ordinarily unlike the defeated man(Adam). The spilling of His blood on the earth(His death) and His Resurrection were the perfect mystery unknown to mortals, including lucifer(prince of this world uptill the resurrection of Christ).
His Resurrection re-assigned the mystical and spiritual orders that do exist. Too BIG for the religious folks, self, and the entire science to comprehend. He is now the Lord of Hosts.

Jesus told me to just think of him as always there. he said you do the whole free will thing, steer clear of churches with worldly bylaws and misguided views. stay out of bars and keep your relationships as monogamous as possible and ill do my best to give you some guidance when you get lost. i thought wow what a good dude, he just smiled and said im the son of God did you think i'd be some kind of asshole. he had a point there

Jesus Christ is my best friend and tutor, the heart of men are deceitful despite their religious appearances, even my closet family brother, uncle, and friend nearly cheated away my dear life immediately I became an orphan few years ago. What am I saying? Jesus Christ is my only trusted best friend and brother that is full of love, though a Spirit. He taught me to always forgive;
dwelling and walking in love among people including non Christians. Love is the greatest eternal Law, Virtue, and Power. It's being cool with Him.

He is the ultimate mediator, who by which satisfied the laws of justice so to afford us entrance into the kingdom of God. This because God is perfectly just and cannot allow any unclean thing to enter into his presence.
By his perfect sacrifice it is given to him afford mercy to all who follow him.
So can his mercy rob the laws of justice?

Because the soul could never die, and the fall of Mankind brought spiritual and temporal death, that is they were cut off from the presence of the Lord, it is expediant that they should be reclaimed from this spiritual death. However because they became carnal, sensual and potentially devilish by nature, this state became a probationary state, laying the plan of redemption asside, as soon as they were spiritualy dead they should be cut off from the Lord forever.
So It is the plan of mercy which cannot be brought about except there were an atonement set forth for us. Therefore God himself atones for the sins of the world to bring about the plan of mercy to appease the demands of justice so God can be perfectly just and merciful at the same time.

The fact is that most people find it difficult to forgive those that offend them even when the offender feels remorse, the love to apply the law of Moses instead of the law of Jesus Christ. Though sometimes i feel that it might be because of whatever bad reputation that most unworthy citizens of my country had created for us through scams that is causing people to bounce on me even at a mere joke by me, so i have learnt my lesson, that is the world of unequal opportunities and status for us. How i wish you would read that book by me, you will understand me better.

It's a lot simpler than that! You have made comments that annoyed people. You keep doing it, and you are seeing honest responses.
