Sin is the product of the mind lacking Truth.

For Truth brings with it a single mindedness
And without Truth there will always be double mindedness.

      Hi friends

The Creator-God Allah YHWH has by His mercy and grace bestowed life with a purpose; and the human psyche and conscience has from the evolution set by Him, imbued with naturally doing the things appropriate for this purpose. If man responds to it; then it is virtue, if man errs and does no respond to it, man sins. Its cure is in repentance, resolve not to do it again and ask forgiveness from the Creator-God Allah YHWH; this empowers him again to tread on the truthful path or purpose of life.

      Thanks

I am an Ahmadi peaceful Muslim

"Sin" is a word relating to religious taboo and so not relevant to all people.  "Doing wrong" or something similar might have less subjective aspects.

Sin is anything opposing God or rejecting the Holy Spirit. Paul the Apostle stated that when the law of Christ came, than sin abound because we became aware of sin. Sin is universal; it's the being aware of sin that is subjective. Historically, man has been becoming aware of what is sin against God, but God is absolute, and always has known all that opposes Him.

I hope the mass minds can distinguish from what is evil and what isn't. I don't think religion --the 'faith' you mentioned has anything to do with it in a positive sense.

Religions led to mass blood shed and look at the Muslims holy Prophet Muhammad from the from the holy book: the Quran. He married a six year old child when he was 54. And he was suppose to be God's messenger. Strange for a man to want to bed down a mere baby. It's evil. Shouldn't that be universal sin? And it wasn't!

There's probably more related evil to do with religions than anywhere else. If common sense and true spiritual awareness and ethical principles couldn't be found there... then how about the universal sin of raping mother earth!

I guess that's what we are left with. We don't respect each other but we have to live on this planet. I'm sure that will be one form of universal sin if not now it will be considered in the future; as precious water and other resources bring down terror.

It is not even bad; it is a virtue to be peaceful. Isn't it?

I was going to say that sin is subjective... but after thinking about this all day, it occurs to me, that the Golden Rule is universal, and serves as a foundation for all laws, both civic and spiritual... and to break this rule is a sin (or wrongdoing), no matter what your religion, spiritual path, or morality.

No. The word sin is a religious concept involving punishment from a non-existent god. smile
