I'm not getting any traffic towards my hubs, and I know part of the reason is because I am not on the computer all the time, posting it around social networking sites, and blogs, but I don't have time for that, nor the cell-phone to do so. So, I do it when I can, and I have generated some traffic, but no responses, no one taking my quizzes or polls, or ratings! Waaaaaa!!! What should I do? Post forums, comments, & "News Feeds" to social networking sites??! Keep on Keeping On!!!? :p
It's your subjects that are the problem.
When you first post a Hub, you'll get traffic from other Hubbers. Once that dies down, you won't get much more traffic unless you attract visitors from the search engines.
To get visitors via the search engines, they have to be searching for something. Looking at your subjects, I can't think of anything people would type into Google that would cause your Hubs to show in the results.
It wouldn't matter how much you go posting them around the place, it won't make much difference if the subject doesn't attract visitors, I'm afraid.
Hi sandieganliz.
Hope the thing you feel does not deter you from writing. You could change your tags and even modify it.
Another tip I read is check the stats part of the particular hub. See the searches results and try putting the search results in your tags, title and even content.
I tried that yesterday and now, I am experiencing 50+ traffic and counting! w00t
*of course I must convey my THANKS to the main contributer who posted yesterday (sorry I couldn't remember your name thou)!!!
Make sure to choose small Niche topics, and try and spend at least an hour promoting each article and you'll be fine.
Promoting is overrated in my opinion. Write on good topics and the views will come. I generally tweet new hubs if I remember, but rarely promote them more than that.
You might want to learn about keyword research...
Give it time and write about more popular topics, but not so popular that you are outclassed
Learn from Marisa Wright, the advice works
social networks aren't really useful at all
It's a very tricky thing. You have to write something popular enough that there will be many looking for that topic but it can't be too popular that it competes with so many articles about that same topic.
Sorry that doesn't seem helpful.
Researching the intended subject before writing is the best tip I can give you. This includes researching the keywords and how tough the competition is in your subject. It all depends on your knowledge and experience in the particular subject.
Otherwise you will have to go the linking route, which may or may not give good results for you. Just my take!
Social networking sites are pretty much a waste of time in my opinion, read my hub on the Truth About Backlinking.
Keyword optimization is also incredibly important.

I started a blog, how to I get traffic to it? I already have around 30 posts and a lot of friends think it's hilarious. I just want to spread the word on it.

HubPages is considered a social networking sites, so views that come from it have less value than others. I am wondering if the same is true of the niche sites. Are they considered to be social networking sites also?
by Nathan Bernardo 11 years ago
I have hubs within a couple of niches which I don't cover all that much; meaning, I don't have that many hubs in those niches. A good number of those hubs have a high bounce rate. So, I'm considering unpublishing those, putting them somewhere else. However, some of them get a good amount of traffic...

Hi all,I'm getting a good amount of traffic from Google on a certain key phrase. When I type that phrase into Google, I don't see my hubpages.Could this be happening because maybe somewhere in the world my site ranks higher than it does where I am? I know that Google gives different results in...
